"Tsar Rugё": Abroad, they use a new version of weapons against UAVs
The increasing use of unmanned aerial vehicles in modern warfare has led to a race to develop the technologies needed to defuse them. One Australian developer hopes that his product will become the mainstream in this market.
This was reported by the Asia Times newspaper.
A new version was shown in Australia weapons against UAVs - DroneGun Tactical, created by DroneShield. This surprisingly large but light weapon resembles something from Star Wars. The "Tsar Ruzhe" is 1,42 meters long and weighs less than 7,3 kg.
Powered by two rechargeable lithium batteries that last more than two hours, DroneGun uses non-kinetic interference technology to disrupt communication drone with an operator at a distance of more than two kilometers.
It's better than just destroying the UAV. According to the developer, the "gun" is capable of jamming satellite navigation, which allows you to take the drone "prisoner" and then examine it in detail. If necessary, he is also able to send the drone back to where it came from.
In 2019, during the opening ceremony of the 30th Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines, the first version of the device disabled at least four UAVs. Then four drones simultaneously appeared on the flight path of the helicopter of the Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte a few minutes before his arrival. In order to prevent the UAV from getting into the blades of the helicopter, it was necessary to use anti-drone weapons against them.
