UEC has developed new gas turbine engines to replace the Ukrainian projects for DKVP "Zubr" and "Murena"
Russia has developed a replacement for Ukrainian gas turbine engines for air-cushion landing ships (DKVP) of the Zubr and Murena projects. The enterprises of the UEC were engaged in the development.
Reportedly, the work was carried out for three years on the basis of the M70FRU GTE. During this time, it was possible to develop new modifications of the engine and units, which makes it possible to completely replace the Ukrainian power plants with DKVP, including reversible engines.
New samples are completely ready for serial production, several copies of the engines have already been manufactured and are ready for installation on the DKVP projects 12061 "Murena" and 12322 "Zubr". TASS with reference to the words of the Deputy General Director - General Designer of the UEC Yuri Shmotin.
Currently, the Russian Navy includes two MDKVP project 12322 "Zubr" - "Mordovia" and "Evgeny Kocheshkov", which are part of the Baltic fleet, there are no Project 12061 Murena landing boats in the Navy.
The Zubr-class project 12322 hovercraft has a length of 57 meters and a width of 20 meters. The displacement is 535 tons, the draft is 2 meters. It is equipped with high-temperature gas turbine engines that provide the ship with an air cushion thanks to four 2,5-meter propellers, and three more propellers with a variable angle of attack and 5,5-meter diameters are driving it. The ship is capable of speeds of 70 knots or 130 km / h.
Project 12061 "Murena" is an air-cushion landing craft. The boat is designed to receive military equipment and personnel of the forward detachments of amphibious assault from an equipped or unequipped coast, transport them by sea, disembark on an unequipped coast and provide fire support.
