MDKVP "Evgeny Kocheshkov" will be shown at the maritime salon in St. Petersburg

Small amphibious assault ship on an air cushion (MDKVP) "Evgeny Kocheshkov" Baltic fleet will be shown at the international naval show in St. Petersburg, which will be held from 23 to 27 June. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.

According to the report, the ship has already arrived in St. Petersburg, and the crew is currently preparing the materiel for display. In addition to the Yevgeny Kocheshkov MDKVP, about 10 ships, vessels and boats of various classes will take part in the MBMC-2021.

Recall that at the beginning of the 1990s, the Soviet Navy had eight Zubr DKVP, but after the collapse of the country, most of them went to Ukraine. Currently, the Russian Navy has two project 12322 MDKVPs - "Mordovia" and "Evgeny Kocheshkov", which are part of the Baltic Fleet.

In 2018, Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov said that the state armaments program until 2027 provides for the construction of air-cushion landing ships of projects 12322 Zubr and 12061 Murena at the Khabarovsk shipyard. There is currently no information available on this topic.

The Zubr-class project 12322 hovercraft has a length of 57 meters and a width of 20 meters. The displacement is 535 tons, the draft is only 2 meters. It is equipped with high-temperature gas turbine engines that provide the ship with an air cushion thanks to four 2,5-meter propellers, and three more propellers with a variable angle of attack and 5,5-meter diameters are driving it. The ship is capable of speeds of 70 knots or 130 km / h.

The Zubr can land troops on 78% of the world's shores without any preparation, although amphibious assault ships with opening nose ramps do so only on 14% of the coastlines. The ship is capable of delivering three tank weighing up to 150 tons or 10 armored personnel carriers with marines. In addition to transporting troops, the ship can carry out the installation of minefields and provide fire support to the troops.

And what does Khabarovsk have to do with the Bison? It was never built there. Feodosia, yes, we managed to send two Bison for China from the factory in 2014, otherwise they could have been ours. What was the intelligence of the Black Sea Fleet engaged in, why was it allowed? Maybe in order to avoid a conflict with China?

      And what has Khabarovsk

So they probably wanted to build there for the Pacific Fleet. And so it is necessary for each fleet to have at least four ships.

No, well, he is at least small, but a very big target for the coastal ones.

In the Chinese and Greek navies, 4 units each. The Chinese UDC type 075 is capable of transporting them.
The Bison is very expensive to build and operate.

Well, actually, they were also built in St. Petersburg! I saw one at the Primorsky Shipyard (aka "Almaz"), back in the mid-80s!

Oh, Sergei! You can't even imagine how complicated this "air cushion" is! There, on the "Almaz", (where I came on a business trip) Tolik (an engineer with whom he worked) gave me an "excursion" (they were just assembling the "pillow")! Yo-mine! Half a minute later I got lost there, like in a labyrinth! I had to shout "good obscenities": "People, ay !!!!" belay Tolik, who has emerged from behind another rubber "apron" (which cannot be moved with your hands!), Just laughed: "Now imagine what an" air cushion "is? request
Since then, I have a very ANCIENT attitude towards KVP!

Here "Eaglet" is more suitable ... Unlike MDKVP, it does not need constantly working blowers of this pillow, but dimensions ... in the transport compartment ...

... at the beginning of the 1990s, the USSR Navy had eight Zubr airborne command and control aircraft ...

It was eight, there were two left. And what, there is no one to put against the wall? Or there are more important things, how to cut down more attendants at the expense of the country and roll them back to offshores.

Damn, why did the topic of these MDKs become so pedalized?
Have you ever heard how these animals get turned on? How are they going? And how do they burn because of the peculiarities of lightweight alloys based on magnesium and aluminum? Have you ever been told how much it takes for such a noisy handsome man to burn out under the dense fire of coastal defense?
Damn, when they were standing in Novoozernoye (far from the edge), everyone heard at launch, and a couple of SDKs, and the 3rd brigade of the PSK, and the crews of the BDK. So they just blew ...

how much will such a noisy handsome man burn under the dense fire of coastal defense?

And what - someone is going to land troops under "dense coastal fire"?? That is - this defense is no longer necessary to suppress at first? Just so on the trunks and trample?

Straight on the trunks and trample?

Yes, somehow such a feeling arises after the victorious reports about the MDK, which I, who served in the early 90s, saw, heard, knew its performance characteristics ...

      Can't you find another place?

What's the point of showing? Like, "We still have two left"? There are not even rumors about the construction.

I was always given the designation "Small landing ship" in relation to "bison". You open any encyclopedia, and there in black and white - The world's largest hovercraft in the history of mankind, so how small is it?
