A destroyer and a frigate from the aircraft carrier group HMS Queen Elizabeth entered the port of Odessa
Destroyer D36 Royal Defender fleet Great Britain and the air defense frigate F805 Evertsen of the Royal Netherlands Navy have finally reached Ukraine. Local mass media report that both ships entered the port of Odessa on Friday morning.
The first to enter the Odessa fort was a British destroyer, followed by a Dutch frigate with a difference of two hours. Before arriving in Odessa, both ships took part in joint maneuvers with the American destroyer USS Laboon DDG 58.
So far, there is no information about the program for the arrival of NATO ships in Ukrainian waters. Most likely, after a short rest, both ships will be involved in naval exercises with the Ukrainian Navy. In addition, as previously reported, this destroyer and frigate will provide "free navigation" in the Black Sea. By the way, they can be joined by the diving support vessel Alize A 645 of the French Navy, which entered the Black Sea on 17 June. This vessel is used to support the work of the diving group of the French Foreign Intelligence Service.
The destroyer D36 Defender and the air defense frigate F805 Evertsen are part of the carrier group HMS Queen Elizabeth, a British aircraft carrier currently in the Mediterranean.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced plans to build a powerful Ukrainian fleet in the near future. Support to Ukraine in construction, he said, will be provided by the United States, Great Britain and the countries of the Black Sea region.
Earlier it was reported that for the first time the F-35B fighters of the British Air Force (from the aircraft carrier Queen Elizabeth) appeared in the skies over the Black Sea in the area of the Romanian borders.
