Russian electronic warfare (EW) stations on the border with Ukraine are being put into active mode to prevent possible provocations before the summit in Geneva.
According to reports, all EW stations located on the border with Ukraine have been switched to active mode in anticipation of a meeting between the US and Russian presidents. This was done to prevent possible provocations by the Ukrainian side in Russian airspace with the help of drones.
According to a source in the power structures of Crimea, whose words are quoted RIA News, all Ukrainian drones moving towards the border to enter Russian airspace will be forcibly landed or deployed in the opposite direction.
(...) the activation of electronic warfare stations is underway. (...) we will see where the drone is heading, and immediately "extinguish" it before entering our airspace, or we will intercept control and turn it in the opposite direction
- said the representative of the security department.
Earlier, the Crimean government said that Ukraine could go to any provocation in order to disrupt the agenda of negotiations between Russia and the United States, thereby drawing attention to itself. An incident with downed Ukrainian drones is expected as one of the options. In this regard, it was decided to use electronic warfare stations.
