The Chinese army showed an example of using a drone based on a copy of the Soviet An-2

China does not intend to abandon Soviet technology and continues to modernize it, creating modern samples. So it happened with the Shifei Y-5B aircraft, which is a licensed copy of the Soviet An-2 aircraft, it was turned into a drone in China.

A report by CCTV aired on Chinese television showing an example of how to use drone on the basis of the An-2 by the PLA military. By using drone, dubbed Feihong-98, Chinese army soldiers worked out the supply of troops on the front line. In the video, the drone independently delivered the cargo to a given point, where it dropped the cargo by parachute.

The new Chinese drone Feihong-98 (FH-98), developed on the basis of a licensed copy of the An-2, made its first demonstration flight on October 16, 2018. This dual-use unmanned vehicle can be used not only for the delivery of goods, but also for the evacuation of the wounded.

The maximum take-off weight of the FH-98 is 5250 kg., The carrying capacity is 1,5 tons, the maximum volume of the cargo compartment is 15 cubic meters, the flight height is 4500 meters, the cruising speed is 180 km / h, the practical range is 1200 kilometers, the takeoff run is 235 m (at maximum takeoff weight).

Initially, it was planned to use the Feihong-98 in the civilian sphere, but attention was paid to the drone in the army. By the way, a licensed copy of the An-2 in China began to be produced in 1957 and today they are not going to abandon mass production.

Yes, well done Chinese, it is very logical to use proven solutions!

There were design bureaus of Ilyushin, Tupolev, Yakovlev, Sukhoi, Mikoyan / Gurevich.
As soon as the UAC with "effective managers" appeared, some misunderstandings immediately started.

"superjet" instead of Tupolev's Tupolev, it's like cynical to spit into your own story ... or a stupid abbreviation MC (main plane ...)

These are our designers, great fellows - they created a masterpiece of aviation technology, the idea of which was formulated by the designer O.K. Antonov back in 1940. Compared to it, even the Volkswagen Beetle sucks because it's not being produced now.

It is in vain that we have abandoned the modernization and production of this aircraft. For many regions, it is ideal ...

Old people still fly here and often. Our AN-3 was ditched by their stupid attempt to fly on it at the South Pole, where they could not start it.

We are not weak, we are weak to launch its receiver into the series .... they have been mucking for a single year.

China did a simpler thing - they don't look for any RECEIVER. They release an old cheap plane, and they don’t push. And ours simply squeeze money out of the budget, effective managers work without end. request

We are not weak. We do not need. Because we always have reckless guys who are ready to carry out any order, if there is even a 1 out of 100 chance. Sometimes this is good, but sometimes it is stupid and irresponsible.

It is quite logical, after the appearance of unmanned taxis, to start using aircraft of this class as drones to deliver goods. As an attack drone, it is wasteful.

Cheap and cheerful. And we have already been composing a replacement for the An-2 for ten years, but things are still there.

there is a group of effective managers who are trying to squeeze money from the budget to produce a replica of a Czech car. There was a photo on VO.

"An-2 in China began to be produced in 1957 and today they are not going to abandon serial production."
"Backward in its capabilities!" the country China can afford it ... TO PRODUCE the SOVIET AIRCRAFT they need ... this is only the "first" in ALL RELATIONS of engineering thought and INDUSTRY Russia ... is not able to simply finalize the production of equipment created by the Soviet fathers and grandfathers!

Unfortunately yes. There are no production lines for the production of engines, materials and the rest. It's expensive to create everything for something new. We didn’t save it, we didn’t care about what we have, this is our national peculiarity. They built communism, where there was no place for the remnants of the past

The flight range of 1200 km is just ideal, even for large countries.
When our enemy already realized that we were using these planes to identify the location of air defense, he still destroyed them, there are always doubts, suddenly these planes are filled with explosives, you never know what, and bang on their heads .. That is, we came up with a win-win venture.
Even China uses them to deliver cargo, they themselves did not think to use them as a "fishing rod" for air defense. This is our eureka.)

Well then, the old question for local lines in Russia has been resolved. There is no need to fence a vegetable garden. Simple - take and buy new licensed An2 from the Chinese
