Syrian operation against militants in Hama province ends in failure
After a series of airstrikes on the positions of ISIS terrorists (* a terrorist organization banned in Russia), the Syrian government forces tried to carry out a sweep of the Al-Fadsa area in the east of Hama province. The largest ISIS forces * in the Syrian Arab Republic are concentrated in this area. At the same time, the militants do not act as a united front, but are divided into several groups that usually engage in surprise attacks, ambush and conduct other sabotage and terrorist activities.
The operation to clean up the Al-Fadsa area began after the destruction of several sections of underground communications of the militants with the help of aerial bombs. According to some reports, an underground storage was also among the destroyed. weapons and ammunition.
However, the operation to develop the success of the SAA and clean up the territory ended in failure. Terrorists attacked a convoy of Syrian troops, as a result of which a SAA vehicle was destroyed. The Syrian army suffered losses. One Syrian soldier became the victim of an ISIS * attack, and four (at least) were injured. This is the official data. The militants claim that the Syrian army has suffered much more casualties and that they have succeeded in disrupting the operation.
The attack on the column took place in a desert area near the Itria (Ifriya) region. At the same time, it is noted that the militants continue to use underground communications for attacks on the SAA units.
It should be noted that this is far from the first attempt by the SAA to destroy ISIS fighters in the east of Hama, but so far the results continue to be unsuccessful, since the area of the terrorist control zone in this area is not shrinking.
The operation against ISIS * in another Syrian province, Homs, turned out to be more successful. Several military formations at once, including armored units, are involved in an operation near the village of Badia. Ground units moved towards the ISIS area of control from the city of Al-Sukhna.
Previously, several strikes were made from the air against the militants' communications. The bandit groups remaining in the east of Homs are trying to encircle, and then complete their destruction.
As you can see, operations against the remnants of ISIS * in Syria are proceeding with varying success. The main difficulty of such operations is that the militants use underground communications and operate in small groups in different directions.
