A weapon that never lost its relevance: the TT pistol

16

In 2020, 90 years have passed since the adoption of a pistol in our country, which can be safely called legendary. We are talking about the TT - the "Tula Tokarev" pistol, which got its name from the name of the domestic gunsmith Fyodor Tokarev.

The main task that at the end of the 1920s was set for the developers of a new pistol was associated with the need to create such weapons, which could replace the then actively exploited "revolver".

As a result, the TT appeared, the mass of which without ammunition was 854 grams. As ammunition, a 7,62x25 mm cartridge was used, the basis for the creation of which was the 7,63x25 mm Mauser cartridge. Cartridge for TT became the first domestic pistol ammunition, which was adopted in service in our country.

Already a couple of years after the release of the first batch of TT pistols, it was decided to carry out a certain modernization. As implemented by 1933 innovations - turning the protrusions of the barrel, one-piece frame. Affected the modernization and trigger thrust of small arms.

TT differs from many other pistols in the absence of a fuse, if we talk about it as a separate structural element. But this does not mean that there is no protection against an accidental shot in principle. For this, a protective platoon of the TT trigger is implemented.

An overview of Tula Tokarev is presented on the Lazarev Tactical channel, where it is noted that the pistol was relevant in different years and, by and large, it has not lost its relevance today.

Needless to say ... the TT pistol is a symbol! One of the symbols of the era ... of Soviet weapons ... WWII ... alas, one of the symbols of the 90s ...! If at the present time you look at the "weapons world", then what kind of TT you will not see! TT pistols were and are still being produced in many countries ... not only in 7,62 x 25 mm caliber; but also in 9 x 19 mm caliber ... and even in 10 mm caliber ... not only 8-rounds , but also 10-charging ... Sports versions of TT were produced in caliber 5,6 mm (P-3 and P-4) ... signal pistol TT-S ... "traumatized"! If you "dig", then you can find prototypes of TT, such as a 15-round TT mod. 1939 g.

    Or "big automatic TT" .......

The pistol on the video intro is an official US import. The engraving "C-TT 7.62x25" is a witness to this. The period as the decimal point is the American standard, in Europe a comma is used. I can bet that on the opposite side the new serial number under which it is registered is applied in the same font. There is a similar inscription on my Nagan. By the way, without this inscription, trunks are valued higher.

I have an injury Leader-m 11,4. Only the number and the year 1942. For 4 years I have only been cleaning and lubricating. I liked the pistol more than Makarov.

Better old TT than judo and karate.

But this is not because the pistol is good, but because any pistol is better than none.

Again the crying of the princess for tt. This pistol was planned to be replaced already in 1938 but did not dare because of the impending war. However, immediately after the war, it was changed, since this pistol had few advantages, in contrast to its shortcomings. The cartridge was discontinued in 1989, as it was also not really needed.

Now there is a large assortment of calibers in its niche ... both in terms of power and penetration of 9x19 and 9x21 ... I generally keep quiet about 9x39. But at one time, there were no alternatives for use in PP. China made on its basis PP with a silencer and pistols for special forces up to 80s

7.63 Mauser was relevant at the end of the 19th century, and even then it was not popular. In the 30s, this cartridge was already obsolete and there were pistol and revolver cartridges to help her. For this reason, the cartridge was used mainly by third world countries. Of course, World War II extended the life of the TT cartridge, including through its use in the PP. Well, then Africa and crime

The cartridges are still being produced. And the main drawback, because of which they wanted to change the TT in 1938, is the impossibility of firing through the viewing slots of armored vehicles due to the fact that the barrel is completely closed by the bolt. For this reason, the samples submitted for the competition to replace the TT were with an open barrel.

Where are they produced in Italy? In Russia, production was discontinued in 89. About the viewing slits this is a funny videem Makarov shoots through the slits. The TT was a raw pistol, a cheap, low-quality copy of a Colt

In the 30s, he was still of a decent quality, which fell during the war years, for which there are corresponding reasons. And from Colt there is only an earring, which was used by other designers of that time. The cartridge is powerful and good in everything, though thin-walled (almost foil), you have to use a sweep to reload. The stopping action is to make the bullet heavier and change its shape .. It could well be reincarnated for sports and recreational shooting and hunting (for rodents))

The point is to revive it all the more for fun? There are 9 x19. Construction of the 7.63 Mauser at the end of the 19th century on the basis of the screw cartridge. Then, at the dawn of homeless gunpowder, they did not bother with many things. The cartridge was outdated already in the 30s. Yes, if he could shoot, but he is not there and the point is in his revival if NATO 9x19 gives 700 J from m9.

Well, what did you want? The Beretta's barrel is 11mm longer, so the pressure is higher, although I pretty much doubt 700J .. And about 7,62 Current you shouldn't be ... it just went away with its high potential ... and the absence of a sales market in Russia and others her countries ... which is very bad for the development of modern weapons ... A weapon lover votes with a ruble ... or a dollar))

At one time, the TT was removed from service due to the excessive power of the cartridge and the small stopping effect of the bullet. But today, when body armor of various classes has been developed, everyone for some reason has completely "forgotten" about the 7,62 * 25 cartridge, I have never seen anyone test TT on body armor of various classes.
