Kuleba demanded to "exchange" the completion of the "Nord Stream - 2" for the Crimea and Donbass
The closer the construction of Nord Stream 2 is completed, the more nervous the situation in Ukraine becomes. Kiev realizes that they can finally lose gas transit, so the Ukrainian authorities are beginning to put forward various demands, trying to influence the situation.
Another demand was made by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, who called the Russian gas pipeline a "threat to the national security" of Ukraine. However, according to him, Kiev could receive "fair compensation" by exchanging the completion of the gas pipeline for "the return of territories." At the same time, he stressed that he had raised this issue at the talks in Berlin.
Thus, Ukraine, represented by Kuleba, demands that Russia return Crimea and Donbass to it, and in response Kiev will "allow" the completion of the gas pipeline. According to the Ukrainian minister, this would be "fair."
This is not the first time Kiev has been talking about compensation. On the eve of the same Kuleba said that the Ukrainian government is considering various options, but will not necessarily agree to the proposals, preferring to choose compensation themselves. Judging by the latest statement by the Ukrainian minister, the appetite of the Kiev authorities is growing every day.
Recall that for the first time, the US State Department announced compensation to Ukraine, promising to compensate for possible losses in transfer payments due to the launch of the Russian Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline and to "force" Russia not to use the pipeline as an instrument of pressure. At the same time, the conversation seemed to be about Germany, as the main beneficiary, but apparently in Kiev they understood everything in their own way and began to put forward their own demands, moreover to Russia.
