NATO Secretary General was asked about the presence of intelligence about the "involvement of the Russian Federation" in the forced landing of the Ryanair aircraft in Minsk

British journalists asked NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg to comment on the situation with the forced landing of a Ryanair plane at Minsk airport. We are talking about an airplane that was flying from Athens to Vilnius and on board which was the Belarusian opposition leader Roman Protasevich. Recall that the aircraft crew received information that an explosive device may be on board. Then a Belarusian Air Force fighter appeared next to the airliner, the commander of the aircraft made a decision to land at the Minsk airport.
Stoltenberg was asked "does NATO have intelligence that would indicate Russia's involvement in this incident?" The NATO functionary did not answer this question directly. Stoltenberg said he cannot talk about specific intelligence.
Secretary General of the North Atlantic military bloc:
I cannot go into details. But I can say for sure what we know about close contacts between Belarus and Russia in various fields, including Aviation and airspace. It should also be noted that Russia is one of the few countries that has not condemned the forced landing of a Ryanair airline in Minsk. But the plane flew from the capital of one NATO country to the capital of another country of the alliance.
Stoltenberg added that at the moment, relations between NATO and Russia "are at the lowest level since the end of the Cold War." It would be strange if these relations were at a high level and were warm and friendly, given that NATO is pushing its military infrastructure to the Russian borders and at the same time blames Russia for all its sins. Even in the landing of the plane in Minsk, NATO is trying to find the notorious "hand of Moscow".
Stoltenberg:
We take seriously those military and non-military threats, as well as aggressive actions on the part of Russia.
Of course, Mr. Stoltenberg does not consider NATO's actions aggressive.
