On the eve of the upcoming meeting of the leaders of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin spoke about what he expects from the meeting with Joe Biden. The head of the Russian state believes that the leadership of our two powers should establish personal contacts.
He expressed this opinion on the TV channel "Russia 1" in an interview with the host of the program "Moscow. Kremlin. Putin ”to Pavel Zarubin.
The head of the Russian state noted that the Russian Federation and the United States should establish a direct dialogue and create mechanisms of cooperation in those areas where our countries are able to work together productively, where the interests of Moscow and Washington coincide.
To restore our personal contacts, relations, establish a direct dialogue, create really functioning mechanisms of interaction in those areas that represent mutual interests.

Among the areas where Russia and America could cooperate, Putin named the settlement of conflicts in various regions of the world, environmental protection and ensuring global stability.
He noted that he would not consider the meeting with Biden in Geneva in vain if, during the dialogue, the two leaders succeed in developing effective mechanisms for joint work in a number of areas.
