"Bombs have become the most respected weapon": how fighters purchased from Russia are used in Indonesia

12

The Indonesian company PT Dahana is currently developing bombs designed to equip a combat aviationpurchased in the Russian Federation.

One of the more excellent products, the P-family bomb, has become the most respected weapon for Indonesian fighters.

- explained at the enterprise, indicating that "the P series bombs that we produce can be used on Russian-standard aircraft" [meaning the Su-30 fighters purchased in the Russian Federation for the needs of the Indonesian Air Force].

To this family weapons includes products P-100L, P-250L and P-500L. They have a great destructive effect and can be used against buildings, bunkers and moving objects, hitting targets over a large area. As indicated by the manufacturer, the listed products have increased drag. As a fuse in all three types, AVU-ETM and AVU-ETMA are used, which are used both for external and internal suspension of aerial bombs on aircraft equipped with an electrical fuse control system.

According to the publication Bisnis.com, the company is able to produce up to 3 thousand bombs of this family annually. Moreover, they have a lower cost in comparison with imported products.

The Bomb P family was created to reduce the dependence of the Indonesian military on supplies from abroad

- explain at the manufacturing company.

Judging by this report of the Indonesian press, the fighters in service with the country's air force are used mainly for testing ground targets, and not for conducting air combat. It is possible that such a specific use of aircraft is influenced by the high cost of missiles compared to bombs.

Uh, news that Indonesia has started production of free-fall bombs? Well, for 1921 it would be interesting news.

Is it a guided bomb or not? If controlled, then on what principle? What is the article about, what is the use of fighters as bombers in Indonesia?

As indicated by the manufacturer, the listed products have increased frontal resistance [respectively, greater penetrating power].

And how does this correlate? what
The increased drag is needed to reduce the penetrating power, so that the bomb goes deep into the ground as little as possible and the explosion is more "ground-based". For better penetrating ability, on the contrary, a sharp-headed penetrating part is needed in order to "penetrate" as deeply as possible.
Maybe I'm wrong and black will be white and white will be black.

Judging by the photo, the size of the bombs resembles the antediluvian Soviet aerial bombs of the M54 family (there is no ballistic ring in the head part) and their only advantage is that more than 3kg and 6kg can be placed on the MBD68-U100-250 multi-lock holders. bombs than more modern long bombs. But at the same time, these shortest aerial bombs have increased frontal resistance, which has the most negative effect on the flight data of the carrier aircraft.

In general, Indonesia chose its own gingerbread, and now it has contracted with those for whom they do not threaten to ban oily palm gold.

Su are preparing for retirement, the future of the Air Force is determined:
Indonesian Air Force plans to buy 36 Rafale, 8 F-15EX jets by 2024.

    Also in the navy:
Indonesia signs construction contract with Fincantieri 6 frigates FREMM type
On June 10, 2021, the Italian shipbuilding association Fincantieri signed a contract with the Indonesian Ministry of Defense for the construction of six FREMM frigates for the Indonesian Navy. The contract also includes the supply of Indonesia with the repair and modernization of two Maestrale-class frigates being withdrawn from the Italian Navy.
According to Italian sources, the first three FREMM-class frigates will be built for Indonesia at Fincantieri shipyards in Italy, while three others will be built with Italian assistance at the Indonesian state shipbuilding association RT PAL in Surabaya.

Indonesia will receive another 34 Pandur II armored personnel carriers in 2021
The direct executor of the contract will be the Czech company Excalibur Army, which is part of GSG. The assembly of the Pandur II in Indonesia (apparently quite formal) will be carried out by the Indonesian state defense industrial association PT Pindad.
This is the second batch of Pandur II armored personnel carriers delivered to Indonesia. In 2020-21, 23 vehicles were shipped, including two experimental wheeled tanks.
PT Pindad previously stated that the Indonesian army plans to acquire a total of 250 Pandur II units (Cobra).

this is done in order not to purchase imported ammunition. And who makes ammunition for Russian-made aircraft?
The article needs to be straightforward - in order not to buy Russian ammunition.
    Are they afraid of sanctions?
