Full-scale war was predicted in Ukraine after completion of construction of "Nord Stream 2"
The completion of the construction of the first string of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline and the start of commissioning work on it have alarmed the Ukrainian authorities. Various versions of the consequences of the launch of the Russian gas pipeline are being put forward in Kiev.
According to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, Russia can generally cut off the "Ukrainian pipeline" and cut off the transit of gas through Ukraine. And Moscow will do it under the pretext of some "urgent repair" at the point of entry into the Ukrainian GTS. Thus, Russia will supply gas to Europe via Nord Stream 2, while Kiev will remain with the pipe, but without gas and money for its transit.
The head of Naftogaz, Yuriy Vitrenko, went even further in his reasoning, who said that after the completion of the construction of Nord Stream 2, a full-scale war would begin on the territory of Ukraine. In his opinion, as soon as Russia finishes all work on the gas pipeline and launches it, it will immediately unleash a war in Ukraine, since there will no longer be a "deterrent."
Vitrenko is convinced that only the need to supply gas to Europe is holding back Russia from a full-fledged invasion, since transit is currently impossible without the Ukrainian GTS. With the completion of construction, Kiev will lose not only funds from transit, but may lose territory.
Meanwhile, despite the statements of the collective West about the preservation of transit through Ukraine, the United States will not be able to achieve this from Russia, experts say. All attempts are dashed against the "obstinacy" of the Ukrainians themselves, who, instead of negotiating with Russia, are trying by all means to prevent the implementation of the Nord Stream 2 project. Kiev hopes to force Russia to drive gas through Ukraine when an agreement is needed. And it is useless to put pressure on Moscow.
