Russia conducts largest naval exercise in the Pacific since Soviet times
In accordance with the action plan for the training of personnel of the Pacific fleetRussia is conducting the largest naval exercise in the Pacific since Soviet times. The venue was the central part of the ocean area.
The press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation informed the journalists about it.
Up to 20 ships, submarines and support vessels were connected to the maneuvers, as well as about the same number of various flying equipment (airplanes, helicopters, UAVs). Among the warships participating in the exercises are the flagship of the Russian Pacific Fleet, the missile cruiser Varyag, the frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov, and the BPK Admiral Panteleev. Aviation are represented by MiG-31BM fighter-interceptors, Tu-142MZ long-range anti-submarine aircraft and other equipment.
Russian servicemen will conduct training activities to search for submarines and protect maritime communications.

The command of the Pacific Fleet's maneuvers was entrusted to its commander, Admiral Sergei Avakyants.
And since June 4, the US Navy has been conducting exercises of the submarine forces Agile Dagger 2021 in the Pacific waters. Their purpose is to demonstrate strength and combat readiness.
Thus, the Pacific Ocean soon turned into an arena for large-scale military exercises for both the United States and Russia.
