Domestic rocket engines: Soviet legacy and modernity
In 2021, Russia and the whole world celebrated the 60th anniversary of the flight of the first man into space. The smile of Yuri Gagarin personifies the victory that was achieved in the already distant 1961 by Soviet science and engineering. Today, when it comes to the development of the domestic space industry, it is difficult to ignore the Soviet legacy that is bearing fruit to this day. Until now, rocket engines, the development of which was carried out in the Soviet era, are also actively used.
Russia, thanks to the Soviet scientific and engineering school, remains among the world leaders in the field of space rocketry. Not only Russian rockets are sent into space on our engines. For a long time, the Americans also have to buy engines for their missiles from the Russian Federation. By and large, if at one time Russia had decided to demonstrate character and responded to American sanctions by banning the supply of rocket engines to the United States, then the United States would have been left “without space” for several years. But this did not happen, since the Russian Federation continues to position itself as a reliable partner, which is ready to cooperate with the same Washington, even under the constant sanctions pressure from its side.
On the channel "Star" the release of the Military Acceptance program was released, dedicated to the development, creation and operation of Russian rocket engines. The program also talks about a unique rocket engine that does not need the usual fuel.
