Israel will help Georgians organize the production of American M4 automatic carbines
Georgia is developing its own production of American M4 automatic rifles, which are being used by the Georgian army. Israel will provide assistance in organizing the production of M4 carbines, said Georgian Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze.
The Georgian Defense Ministry is setting up a joint venture with an unnamed Israeli company that will produce M4 automatic carbines. Most likely, we are talking about the assembly of American submachine guns, organized on the basis of the military scientific and technical center "Delta", which belongs to the Georgian Ministry of Defense.
In addition, Burchuladze announced production on the basis of the same Delta center drones various types, including drums. Negotiations are currently underway with companies from Poland and South Africa to create a joint venture. It is planned to sign the documents before the end of this year and start production as early as 2022.
It is also planned to purchase strike and reconnaissance drones produced by NATO countries, without specifying the manufacturers and types of UAVs planned for purchase.
Georgia is also strengthening its air defense, by the end of the year the Israeli company Rafael will supply the Georgians with an improved air defense system, again without specifying which one.
Let us remind you that Georgia is transferring its army to NATO standards. Rearmament to American M4 carbines began last summer. In addition, the Georgian army has already begun to receive large-caliber machine guns M2 and automatic grenade launchers Mk 19.
