August 9.08.2012, XNUMX Minsk aviation the repair plant showed the media representatives the Sterkh-BM drone, which is part of the Filin unmanned aerial vehicle, ready for serial production.

Work to create drone and complex management have been underway for the past five years. The drone was first shown in 2009 as a medium-range UAV. More than $ 500 was spent on the creation of an unmanned complex. The estimated price of one serial Sterkh-BM drone is about $000, and the entire complex as a whole can cost about $250 million.

Cuba is interested in Belarusian Sterkh-BM drones

Today, several prototypes have been manufactured, the plant plans to start mass production next year. The manufacturing process involved 15 specialists. Serial production of one drone at the factory will take no more than six months. According to the plans of the plant’s management, the plant will produce 10 and more Sterkh-BM UAVs per year (depending on demand).

The show of the unmanned complex took place due to the successful completion of the first phase of the flight tests of the factory. The first phase included:
- automatic flight of an unmanned vehicle;
- flights on the set routes;
- landing of the drone on the runway (length not less than 350 meters, width not less than 10 meters).

The media showed a version of the drone, intended for aerial drag training targets. Additionally, this model can be used to monitor and monitor various parts of the water and land surface. The scope of the drone - civil, defense (power), specialized and scientific areas.

High-tech UAV with automatic takeoff mode - this is the first drone ready for mass production in the CIS. Fully automatic takeoff / landing while UAVs can make the United States and Israel.

At the heart of the drone is an automatic control system SAU-7.0. It was developed by the specialists of the Belarusian enterprise “KVAND IS”. The main purpose is automatic, semi-automatic and manual control modes for unmanned solutions. The ACS is provided with the ability to connect via modern interfaces to additional equipment or payloads of UAVs.

Functions SAU-7.0:
- automatic control of the carrier, mechanisms and propulsion;
- semi-automatic / manual control with autostabilization of the carrier;
- emergency control;
- management / interaction with additional equipment;
- data transmission and reception between the carrier and the ground station.

At the heart of the SAU-7.0 is a high-performance processor. The entire automatic control system works on the Linux family operating system, which opens up additional possibilities compared to similar UAVs - quick implementation / change of code by the user, installation of additional programs for interfacing with new equipment or payload.

The military scope of the UAV - conducting reconnaissance and surveillance, electronic warfare, retransmission and communication, the launch of aerial targets in a given place.

It is planned to deliver drones on the orders of various Belarusian departments, customers from the CIS. Recently, Cubans showed interest in this drone, for familiarization with technical information regarding the Sterkh-BM drone.

The composition of the unmanned complex "Filin":
- Sterkh-BM drone;
- command module;

- module maintenance and transportation;

- software;
- documentation.

The complex can include from one to several UAVs "Sterkh-BM" (standard - 2 instance). The command module is based on the MAZ-631705-262 and consists of 3-x workers and 2-x workstations. The T & E module is designed as a trailer (PS 8571-1.7). In addition to spare parts and transport fixtures, the UAV is equipped with an emergency gasoline generator. The software includes a virtual simulator program for training operators to control the drone and additional equipment.

The main characteristics of the drone:
- speed cruiser / max -150 / 200 km / h;

    Strange: In Cuba, such an expensive drone was needed, and even from a country with little experience in creating drones and minimal hours of test flights (I’m not saying there are no operational flights yet, the sores are unknown, I haven’t shown myself in any mission).

      No, the Cubans will go and buy your Israeli tank, and that means there is no experience baranovichi aircraft repair him half a century

        What is the relationship between the 50-year history of the plant and the experience in the field of UAVs? In Tula, for 100 years they have been pouring trunks for artillery, probably it is not a problem for them to build a railgun, also artillery.
        It says about Cuba’s interest, but if they buy it, I think it will be for political reasons, not military.
        For example, having paid 5 million, they will be able to purchase IAI Searcher 2, which is 15 times longer in the air and 50 times the payload.
        Or for example Hermes 450 which now costs no more than 2 million, but is in the air for 20 hours and carries 100 kg of payload ..
        That is, an average UAV costs as much as this small
        IMHO by itself =)

          An important tank has a wing, and you were proud of it, it’s the best and your Hermes has nothing to do. Yes, and Belarusian equipment is better and more reliable than Israeli.

            That is, Israeli submarines-and threshing floor because one fell? Using this logic, Russia has bad planes, nuclear submarines and tanks, because they sometimes fall, sink, break. It is too early to speak about the reliability and quality of the Belarusian equipment, while there are no more detailed performance characteristics or data on the "stuffing" of this unit, if it turns out that everything is so good and the level is not inferior to Israeli or American ones, I personally will be only glad ..

              By the way, for your information, the Americans in Brest purchased instruments for tracking satellites and said your instruments were the best, and India bought Belarusian sights from Belarus rather than Israeli

              Well, how did you decide that the outdated connection is worse than that of Israel, the country that developed the satellite with a resolution of 2 m has all modern technologies, if Iran received such a satellite, he would probably know all the secrets of Israel

          in different ways.

          but the motivation (in my opinion) are the main two points:

          1. Cubans are satisfied with both the declared qualities and the price of the UAV
          2. They do not expect a dirty trick from Belarusians with "bugs" in the UAV software and avionics. - this is the main reason why independent states, but not having highly developed technologies, do not associate themselves with the product of all sorts of hotbeds of democracies and their satellites.

            Perhaps, but cases of such patches, except in advance agreed upon. Israeli technology did not have a lot of speculation, but the facts are zero. In addition, I do not think that a country in which a very large part of the proceeds comes from the sale of weapons will discredit itself in this way. Having a patch is one thing, the presence of which will reduce all Israeli contracts to nothing, and quite another, for example, the outdated communication system between the control center and the UAV, in case of a patch, there will be at least someone to blame ...
            As I understand it, they want to use these devices to control sea waters, it goes without saying that I can go a little overboard, but if smugglers in that area were able to afford to buy an old submarine, it would not be a problem to order jammers. because there the channel is encoded, I think, more seriously.
            Again TTX I do not know, just a thought in the ear, maybe not right =)

              Israel receives easy money from America; Israel has access to advanced technologies of NATO countries, which means modernizing and saying this is ours

              Well, how did you decide that the outdated connection is worse than that of Israel, the country that developed the satellite with a resolution of 2 m has all modern technologies, if Iran received such a satellite, he would probably know all the secrets of Israel

                I am losing interest in this dispute. some assaults and reproaches, without facts. If you have everything bad western by default, then what have I to do with it?
                But still the answer is

                1. US assistance is 1.5-2% of the budget of Israel, and we must use the money in contracts with their enterprises.
                2. Israel has its own good research base. In many areas, Israel, if not ahead of everyone, is at least in the top five. This picture reflects the rating and achievements of universities, the faculty of which I once studied received 3 Nobel laureates in 7 years
                3. No need to write "developed a satellite", at least out of respect for the inhabitants of the Russian Federation on this forum, because this is a joint Russian-Belarusian project, in which the satellite itself is like a Russian oaz, and the optics (2m black and white, 10m color) are Belarusian, that is, a fancy Belarusian fotik on the Russian satellite "Kanopus-M".
                4. What is the habit "Americans said that _____ (insert the correct one) is better than theirs", who said? where and when? So it turns out that "the Israelis tried the Belarusian optics and said that it is many times better than what Elbit does.
                5. If the launch of satellites is an indicator, then Israel only from the Ofek program, launched 9 units, there were also commercial Amos (communication satellites), Eros-A and B, observation satellites, etc.

              Here’s the link: this tank is not shocking for thousands of flight meters, so it’s not intended to compare it with yours. Well, everything’s being worked out for a couple of hundred kilometers, but more and inappropriately you need to monitor Iran, etc.

          It seems to me that in terms of dimensions it is more accurate to compare with the IAI I-View:
          Capacity: 14 kg (30 lb)
          Length: 2.90 m (9 ft 6 in)
          Wing span: 3.96 m (13 ft 0 in)
          Gross weight: 104 kg (230 lb)
          Powerplant: 1 × Dale DH-290, 19 kW (25 hp)
          Maximum speed: 185 km / h (115mph)
          Endurance:> 6 hours
          Service ceiling: 1,500 m (5,000 ft)
