Cuba is interested in Belarusian Sterkh-BM drones
Work to create drone and complex management have been underway for the past five years. The drone was first shown in 2009 as a medium-range UAV. More than $ 500 was spent on the creation of an unmanned complex. The estimated price of one serial Sterkh-BM drone is about $000, and the entire complex as a whole can cost about $250 million.
Today, several prototypes have been manufactured, the plant plans to start mass production next year. The manufacturing process involved 15 specialists. Serial production of one drone at the factory will take no more than six months. According to the plans of the plant’s management, the plant will produce 10 and more Sterkh-BM UAVs per year (depending on demand).
The show of the unmanned complex took place due to the successful completion of the first phase of the flight tests of the factory. The first phase included:
- automatic flight of an unmanned vehicle;
- flights on the set routes;
- landing of the drone on the runway (length not less than 350 meters, width not less than 10 meters).
The media showed a version of the drone, intended for aerial drag training targets. Additionally, this model can be used to monitor and monitor various parts of the water and land surface. The scope of the drone - civil, defense (power), specialized and scientific areas.
High-tech UAV with automatic takeoff mode - this is the first drone ready for mass production in the CIS. Fully automatic takeoff / landing while UAVs can make the United States and Israel.
At the heart of the drone is an automatic control system SAU-7.0. It was developed by the specialists of the Belarusian enterprise “KVAND IS”. The main purpose is automatic, semi-automatic and manual control modes for unmanned solutions. The ACS is provided with the ability to connect via modern interfaces to additional equipment or payloads of UAVs.
Functions SAU-7.0:
- automatic control of the carrier, mechanisms and propulsion;
- semi-automatic / manual control with autostabilization of the carrier;
- emergency control;
- management / interaction with additional equipment;
- data transmission and reception between the carrier and the ground station.
At the heart of the SAU-7.0 is a high-performance processor. The entire automatic control system works on the Linux family operating system, which opens up additional possibilities compared to similar UAVs - quick implementation / change of code by the user, installation of additional programs for interfacing with new equipment or payload.
The military scope of the UAV - conducting reconnaissance and surveillance, electronic warfare, retransmission and communication, the launch of aerial targets in a given place.
It is planned to deliver drones on the orders of various Belarusian departments, customers from the CIS. Recently, Cubans showed interest in this drone, for familiarization with technical information regarding the Sterkh-BM drone.
The composition of the unmanned complex "Filin":
- Sterkh-BM drone;
- command module;
- module maintenance and transportation;
- software;
- documentation.
The complex can include from one to several UAVs "Sterkh-BM" (standard - 2 instance). The command module is based on the MAZ-631705-262 and consists of 3-x workers and 2-x workstations. The T & E module is designed as a trailer (PS 8571-1.7). In addition to spare parts and transport fixtures, the UAV is equipped with an emergency gasoline generator. The software includes a virtual simulator program for training operators to control the drone and additional equipment.
