Hazing in the army what and how

Hazing in the army what and howHow to recognize "Grandfather"?

This is not difficult, because the appearance and manners of the 'old men' serve as the best business card. Their 'identifying signs': a hook is fastened on the collar of a gymnast or overcoat; field cap (cap, cap) famously shifted to the back of the head; hair is longer than the charter; the belt is arched, and he hangs below the belt. Well, the face, naturally, is rude and grinning (I am talking, of course, only about harmful and nasty "grandfathers", so the latter will not apply to normal "repetitionists"). Well, if someone launches a plate in the dining room, it is clear that he, 'grandfather dear,' to whom the kitchen utensils did not seem to be clean enough. Stay, guys, away from these idiots, as well as from the attire in the kitchen, which in view of the "unbridled fun" is also called "disco".

Types of bullying in the army

Hazing in the army is essentially a cult, a kind of religion, with its calls for humility and nonresistance, numerous commandments and rituals, with an abundance of 'possible' and 'impossible'. And religion, as is known, is used both for good and for evil. The church is able not only to give a person the freedom of the spirit, but also to entrench him; Bullying, of course, is first and foremost a tool of violence, but it can also act as a guarantor of the order and fighting efficiency of a unit when it takes on the form of mentoring and tutelage by the old young men. It depends on the type of bullying that prevails in the unit, and I would venture to single out those of those.

Hazing, not related to the humiliation of human dignity, is that recruits perform some types of work, calculated, in theory, for all personnel. Well, let's say, 'grandfather' ordinary Private Pupkin was ordered to clean the floor in the barracks. Naturally, in the second year of the boy’s service, this simply turns up, and he quickly strains the salabon (that is, private Tulupkin, who has not yet plowed half a year), whom the army god himself ordered to arm with a broom and a rag. In general, this is normal, and this cup will not pass anyone. It is necessary for newcomers to "rustle" (to work hard), but the last months of the service will not be overshadowed by the rough work. More 'grandfathers' may order to drive into the dining room for bread and sugar or peel potatoes. Raking up the snow, too, will not - sit, smoke, while you will hunch. Nothing, guys, this is all legal, and there is no reason to "arise" here. The above-mentioned mentoring is also related to the same “non-violent hazing”, when even the younger “old men” in their ranks teach the young mind to the mind to reason in terms of service, force (without assault!) To pump muscles in the sports area and monitor the appearance (is the net turnout attached?) , are boots polished, etc.). Such hazing is even useful, and many who have served, with whom it was possible to communicate, reasonably believe that the whole army rests on it.

Grandfathers games and customs

borderline view between 'useful arrogance' and violence. 'Grandfathers' - they are sometimes like children. They’ll come up with something to brighten up the dull days of waiting for the demobilization order. Here are some kinds of entertainment. The chauffeurs (they are the same 'steering wheels', 'cardans') force the 'salabons' to “drive”. Private Tulukin crawls on all fours under the beds, moving a bowl of water in front of him and bibikaya, and the “grandfathers” issue commands from the top: “To the left!”, “To add gas!”, “Reverse!”. The signalers have their own 'gadgets' - they are forced to stand on a stool and mop away the interference from the radio receiver antenna. Sometimes it is suggested to blow out a light bulb, practice in putting on uniforms for 48 seconds (it is supposed to be outfitted after an alarm). But the most favorite game of the old fellows is the 'Demobel train'. This is when the corporal Pupkin passion like hunting to feel like riding home in a soft car. And here he is reclining on his crib, which is slightly shaken by two or three salabonas (it seems like the blue carriage is running and swinging ...), and the soldiers are running around with branches in their hands (the trees pass by the window). Background sound, of course, is created: Chuh - Chuh - Chuh, Chuh - Chuh - Chukh, Tu-Tu-Ooh! And finally, the 'conductor' with a glass in his hands: 'Would you like a tea?' Such are the 'pretzels' - circus, and more! Take this with humor: they say the child does not play around, if only it does not climb with his fists. The 'grandfathers' of couples in such theater productions will be released - you see, they will be angry and svovolnichat less ...

Finally, the third, most cruel kind of hazing is the dictatorship of the grandfathers. Systematic beatings, terror, sophisticated harassment, often disguised as training for young people (long crawling in a gas mask; push-ups before losing consciousness), mockery of human dignity, forcing the full service of the elite (washing of footcloths, even carrying military duty as grandfathers) .

I know of a case when young guys from a guard company did not sleep for three days in a row, replacing sweetly snoring second-year scum. Such hazing in the army is famous for its legendary construction battalions, autorotites, a naval fleet (there it is called Godkovschina), motorized rifle troops, etc. It is less prevalent among the frontier, since service there is intense (outfit - sleep - outfit - sleep) and there is no time left for grandfathering freaks. In general, the intensity of hazing is determined by the level of culture of the unit. Let's say it has always been like this: the more students in a company (on an outpost, on a ship), the softer are morals. Now, students are not being called in, and a normal, good guy, who “passed by the institute” and found himself in his boots, often has nowhere to wait for support in an environment not burdened with the intellect and culture of fellow workers. And every punks, unfortunately, feels in the army like a fish in water.

Officers and hazing

Alas, the overwhelming majority of officers are indifferent to what is happening in the barracks in their absence. Hazing is even a little profitable for them - senior servicemen will always control how young animals eat. A sensible lieutenant is able to maintain in the team the first type of non-statutory relations, stopping attempts at bullying. Such, by the way, and respect. There are instances of trying to fight any manifestation of hazing (even light), forcing personnel to live strictly according to the regulations. The hooks are fastened to the “grandfathers”, they straighten the badges, they demand that they wash the floor on a par with the “salabons” ... It is stupid and useless to do, because while they are fighting with secondary paraphernalia, atrocities are often done behind their backs. In general, the officers - a weak defense against barbarism, and the informers, by the way, usually get even more cuffs. Try, guys, to solve your problems by yourself, taking into account some of our recommendations.

How can you still resist?

First of all, friends, keep in mind that most of the others are chasing some kind of unlucky "Chonkiny", weaklings, stupid people. If you do not know how to wash the floor, you can not thread a needle, you are too thoughtful and not in a hurry, know that you are the N1 candidate for the role of a scapegoat. They do not like mama sons, imagined, miserly. Inability, however, can be compensated for by diligence, desire to learn, diligence (but not to fawn!). You don’t really want a physically strong kid, so be sure to 'bob up' before the call. They will not be particularly bothered by the artist who is able to help 'grandfathers' decorate 'demobel albums', they respect those who own the guitar. Be sure to try to find the 'grandfather' - countryman! In which case support and intercession will be provided.

And yet alone from the "old men" do not fight back (peck, break, even if you are a tough bodybuilder). Only together, rallying all young stock. Therefore, young, in any case, do not squabble among themselves!

Well, if there are only torturers around and they have cooked them to the limit? Where to complain? His officers, as I said, are ineffective. It is better to write a letter to the military prosecutor's office, but at the same time try to lower it into the mailbox not in the territory of the unit. And inappropriately inform about their bitter share of parents - it will be easier for them to make a fuss, to report on the outrages in progress to the appropriate authorities. The main thing is - God forbid you try to lay hands on yourself or deal with offenders through AKM! Guys ! Life is one - you break it or break it - everything, nothing can be fixed ... And this is because of some scum ... Think ...
Summing up the conversation about bullying, I would venture to suggest that this ailment will be curable only with the conduct of profound and effective reforms in the army, with its transfer to professional rails.
