Pipelayer Akademik Chersky will join Fortuna in Danish waters
The Akademik Chersky pipelayer will join the Fortuna pipelayer in Danish waters to complete the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. This was reported by the project operator Nord Stream 2 AG.
According to the report, the Akademik Chersky, which had been in the German port of Wismar for almost a month, left the port and went to Kaliningrad for testing. After that, he will join the Fortuna barge on the Danish section of the gas pipeline.
- said in a statement.
On the eve of "Fortuna" completed the laying of 10 km of one of the lines of the gas pipeline in Danish waters. To complete the laying of the entire line, she has to lay another 39 kilometers in Danish and 13,9 km in German waters. In recent days, the vessel has reached a laying rate of almost 1000 meters per day, but the work is greatly hampered by the need to rearrange the anchors, as well as the loading of new pipes. The barge lost more than 10 days due to bad weather. Work began on February 6.
Meanwhile, the Danish Maritime Administration announced that work on laying pipes for Nord Stream 2 in Danish waters will last until the end of September, and not until the end of April, as previously announced.
Gazprom urged not to focus on the timing of the completion of the gas pipeline construction, since, given the situation around Nord Stream 2, there are no exact dates.
