Turkish police arm themselves with T129 ATAK FAZ-2 attack helicopters

The Turkish police received the first serial attack helicopter T129 ATAK FAZ-2. This was announced by Turkish Interior Minister Suleiman Soylu, who made a corresponding entry on Twitter.

The Turkish Interior Ministry's General Police Department has accepted the delivery of the first T129 ATAK FAZ-2 helicopter out of nine ordered for the General Directorate of Security (EGM). It is planned that the attack helicopter will be used by the Security Directorate in counter-terrorism operations, which are carried out jointly with units of the Turkish army.

The completion of tests of the modernized version of the Turkish attack helicopter ATAK FAZ-2 was reported in early January this year. At the same time, TAI (Turkish Aerospace Industries) announced the start of serial production of the helicopter for the needs of the police and the Turkish army.

The helicopter is a modification of the T129 ATAK multipurpose attack helicopter, adopted by the Turkish army in 2014. The new version differs from the basic model in the installed electronic warfare (EW) complex and the attack warning system.

The Turkish T129 ATAK attack helicopter is a licensed copy of the Italian AW129 Mangusta, developed in the 1980s. In the basic version, the T-129 is equipped with two LHTEC CTS800-4A engines, its maximum speed is 270 km / h, and its combat radius is 561 km. The maximum height (ceiling) is 6 km. The helicopter is armed with a stationary three-barreled automatic cannon of 20 mm caliber and suspended mounts for various types of missiles.

It is normal of course to arm the police with an attack helicopter. laughing But here you need to know the structure of the Turkish Interior Ministry. For example, we have an aviation component in the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation (Rosgvardia), which is also a peaceful structure. With Mi 24 and Mi 8 AMTSh in service. So I think there is nothing surprising in the armament of attack helicopters of the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs.

But an openly anti-tank helicopter to the police ?! laughing
Moreover, as far as I know, he is completely devoid of armor. His defense is a maneuver. That is, you can successfully shoot at it from any karmultuk.

          1. There is nothing funny for a grin in this plot, there are people killed and you laugh. It's a shame.
          2. This is not an experience of shooting protesters, but on the contrary it is an attempt at a military coup.

This is an example of the color revolution of the United States, only here they focused on the military and not on UNDERGETT

Maybe all the same built-in, but somehow stationary seems to be nailed to the floor. )))

If you recall the recent article about the Praetorians and look at the history of Turkey, it becomes more or less clear that the Sultan wants to hedge against any surprises.

I agree. And for one thing, free the army for expansion. Kurdistan, Idlib - Ministry of Internal Affairs. Libya, Azerbaijan, Cyprus - MO.

Today I learned that the Turkish police received a new helicopter. Now I stubbornly think good or bad? For the Turkish police it is probably good, but for Russia - what difference does it make what kind of helicopters the police have?

In Turkish Kurdistan, almost all operations are carried out by the police. A normal helicopter for such purposes. Well, for the army, they will probably create a separate modification.
