"All for all": Azerbaijan and Armenia exchanged prisoners

Azerbaijan and Armenia held the first exchange of prisoners according to the "all for all" formula. The exchange took place under the control of Russian peacekeepers. This is reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

As reported in the military department, for two weeks the commander of the Russian peacekeeping group, Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov, conducted intensive negotiations with Baku and Yerevan, discussing the exchange of prisoners. The main task was to conduct an "all-for-all" exchange.

On Monday, the Russian military handed over 12 people to the Azerbaijani side, and 44 people to the Armenian side. All former prisoners were taken by the Aerospace Forces planes to Baku and Yerevan, respectively.

As a result of the agreements reached, on December 14, the exchange of prisoners of war took place. The commander of the Russian peacekeeping forces personally handed over 12 people to the Azerbaijani side and 44 people to the Armenian side. The commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent flew them home to Baku and Yerevan, respectively, by plane of the Russian Aerospace Forces.

- said the official representative of the Ministry of Defense Igor Konashenkov.

The commander of the group, Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov added that the Russian peacekeepers will continue to carry out their assigned tasks in the zone of responsibility.

Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated about the agreement reached on the exchange of prisoners according to the "all for all" formula. According to him, this was achieved during trilateral negotiations with the participation of Russian peacekeepers. Moreover, it was emphasized that not only servicemen captured during the last conflict, but also those captured earlier, fell under the exchange.

This number suggests that they were not taken prisoner.

Maybe they did, but you still have to live to see the exchange

Azerbaijan and Armenia held first exchange prisoners under the formula "all for all."
This means that the process will continue within the framework of the "all for all" agreements.

4 to 1 exchanged. In theory, everything is correct: the attackers should have more prisoners. Or maybe the Armenians, when retreating, let the prisoners flow?

12 people to one side (Azerbaijan) and 44 to the other (Armenia). The act is certainly positive with an expression of goodwill. But I would like to focus on some details. During the war, the Azerbaijani media trumpeted hundreds of Armenian prisoners who almost themselves go to surrender to the Azerbaijani troops. Over time, the facts of the information war will still be revealed, but simply outright lies on both sides.

Maybe they were taken prisoner, but given the specifics of relations between the two countries, not everyone lived to see the exchange.

        about hundreds of captured Armenians

So this is the first exchange. and if done in proportion - then 10 - 44 is not a little.
2- these are the old people who were captured in 2014, civilians.

On December 14, the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan announced the arrest of four servicemen of the Armed Forces of the republic for committing crimes in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The ministry's report says that servicemen of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces Rashad Aliyev and Gardashkhan Abishov are suspected of mocking the bodies of the dead Armenian soldiers during the battles in the Zangelan region of the NKR. They are also suspected of filming their criminal actions with a phone camera and distributing videos on social networks.
Investigators also suspect servicemen Arzu Huseynov and Umud Agayev of destroying stone slabs on Armenian graves at the cemetery in the village of Madatli, Khojavend region of NKR, as well as filming acts of vandalism and distributing videos on social networks.
“All four servicemen have been arrested,” the Prosecutor General's Office said.

Welcome! I would also like to hear about the progress of the investigation into the downed helicopter ...

And who specifically spoke about hundreds of captured Armenians? Can you give an example? On the contrary, the Armenians claimed about one hundred and one and a half captive Armenians in Azerbaijan.

The guilt of which was "proven" by the most honest Armenian court. They hung all the hangers on them, so as not to extradite as illegally detained in the occupied territory of Azerbaijan, namely in the Kelbajar region. A common Armenian trick.
