"Their place is at the forefront of the ground forces strike": in Asia, the combat capabilities of the Polish version of the T-72 tank were evaluated

30

The Soviet T-72 tank was widely distributed around the world, having entered service with many foreign armies. Among them were the Malaysian troops, which are equipped with one of the modifications of this combat vehicle.

In 2007-2009, delivery of 48 tanks PT-91M PENDEKAR. This model is a modernization of the old Polish PT-91 MBT, modified to meet the requirements of the Malaysian military. In turn, manufactured from scratch under license PT-91 (produced in 1995-2002) is based on the Soviet T-72M1 tank.

This tank was named PENDEKAR ["Warrior"] in accordance with its role [on the battlefield], where it must be at the forefront of the attack of ground forces during [carrying out] offensive operations or during the defense
- writes the Asian edition BTDM.

Recently, the Malaysian army fired PT-91Ms, which are in service with the 11th regiment of the Royal Armored Corps.

PENDEKAR has increased mobility, amazing firepower and armor protection that match the country's terrain
- notes the Malay press, focusing on the Slovak-made 125-mm Smoothbore 2A46MS cannon, the firing accuracy of which has increased by 23 percent compared to the original [Soviet 2A46M].

The range of fire of the Slovak cannon is 4 km. At the same time, as indicated by the Asian press, it is able to "destroy all types of tanks and armored vehicles [...] this ability will certainly become a nightmare for those who intend to undermine the country's sovereignty."

Oh ... And this is the crew assembled ???

How many are stokers? Since the Polish version of the tank, then it should be so. We have anecdotes in the style: How many warrant officers do you need to screw in a light bulb. In Europe and America, the same anecdote about Poles laughing

, About the light bulb - it's actually about the Moldovans, judging by the number of Poles working in Germany at construction sites and industries, I would not say that the Russians are somehow better than them.

Just some kind of holiday - in the morning there are so many articles about the world's tank forces.
I didn't know that the Polish PT - 91 was going for export. Thanks for the news.

I wonder what transmission this tank is with? The Poles have made their own, a single unit (ESM 350).
In appearance, it looks nice, but there were problems with engine overheating.

Transmission ESM-350 German-French - Renk, Polish engine S-1000R PZL Wola.
The engine is borrowed from the Soviet W-46.
In 2016, Renk-France invited Malaysia to upgrade the drivetrain and replace the engines with a Scania D116 with 883 kW (1200 hp) - probably not implemented yet, I think.

I don't quite understand. From the very beginning, a Polish PZL Wola S-91R engine was installed on the PT-1000M Pendekar, combined into a power unit with a RENK ESM-350 transmission.
I present the facts and technical data as they are - the minuses, probably out of spite. Data can be checked for confirmation

Stunned at how dusty in the video when shooting tanks. Something they got so tight. Almost like cuirassiers in the old days - a bot-a-bot.
And further. Don't these tank volleys get shell shots at the audience? Distance is nothing at all.

Cheap - according to the rules of the Russian language, in the root of the words after the sibilants, the letter "e" is written if you can pick up a single-root word in which the letter "e" is written after the sibilant. In this case, the test word is “cheaper”, “cheapness”.
Why did you buy this cheap thing?

The main idea is that the Polish armored forces have superiority over the enemy. Kaliningrad can be taken.

The PT-91 has aged a lot, and the Russian T-72B3M is now hitting it in the head with both armor and an FCS.
There is no need to talk about any advantage of Poland in terms of armored weapons.

It doesn't matter if the decision is made in principle to attack. Under certain conditions, quantity turns into quality.

            Russian-Polish wars:

Well, and looking at this, we can say that in the future the Poles will only be friends with us and will not use weapons against us?

Yes. You are right - the history of our countries is complex and replete with many wars. Sometimes Poland was the aggressor, sometimes Russia.
But this is a story from which lessons must be learned so that wars between us never happen again.
One way or another, Russia is now a nuclear power, and an attack on it would mean nuclear deserts on the Vistula River. I have a low opinion of my politicians in Poland, but not to that extent.
Kaliningrad, on the other hand, is not a land that Poland has claims to (here I would rather see Germany's expectations)

Tanks PT-91M Pendekar were built from scratch, and not old buildings.
On the other hand, half of the Polish PT-91s are modernized, used T-72M1s, and half are new units.

By the way, exporting these tanks was not the best business. Mostly foreign suppliers earned (gears, FCS, guns), and tanks were sold de facto below cost and thanks to corruption.

It seems that Israel has traditionally used Allison transmissions - including in captured tanks made in the USSR.

As far as I know, Merkava 1 (as well as 2 and 3) had a Teledyne Continental AVDS-1790-6A 908 engine and an Allison CD850-6BX transmission. Later versions 2 and 3 had Renk RK 304 transmissions. The Merkava 4 actually had MTU-883 and Renk 325 engines, but the Tiran family tanks (modernized captured T54 / 55/62) had Detroit Diesel 8V-71T engines and Allison transmissions.

Partially Polish and all Malaysian PT-91 units are equipped with the Slovak Konstrukta 2A46MS cannon - it is much better than the original 2A46 (although there were serious problems with the quality of some serial batches of the Slovak gun) in accuracy and durability.
The 2A46M-4 and 2A46M-5 cannons, installed on most of the tanks modernized by Russia, still have better parameters, and, very importantly, thanks to the restructuring of the automatic loader “carousel”, they can use newer and much more effective ammunition than the Polish PT- 91, which are used, apart from a small number of Polish and Israeli, antediluvian ammunition WBM-7 with a 3BM15 rocket, which entered service with the USSR in 1972, and 3BM9 since 1968 !!!

Thanks for the information. Above in the article, the accuracy is 23% better than the standard original, and our 4 or 5 models are by how many% higher than the initial version of the gun in accuracy?

2А46М-4 - a modified version of the 2А46М-1 cannon. Improved structural rigidity and structural accuracy. Accuracy of fire is improved by 15-20%, total dispersion at once is reduced by 1,7 times.
