NASA proposal to participate in the lunar program is studied in Roskosmos
110
It became known that Roskosmos received a memorandum of participation in the implementation of the Gateway moon mission program. This information was confirmed in the Russian space agency.
Roscosmos notes that the document that NASA sent to Russia was previously agreed with the US Department of State. Roscosmos reports that at the moment there is a study of the American proposal.
From a corporation message:
The state corporation is preparing a position for this project, where it will formulate the conditions and format for Russian participation in the Gateway program.
It is further reported that after this the final position of Roscosmos will be presented on participation in the near-moon program, which the United States of America is going to implement.
NASA confirms the fact that it actually sent an invitation to Roscosmos about joint activities on the project of the Gateway near-moon orbital station. This was announced recently by NASA director Jim Brydenstein, who is often criticized in the United States for "loyalty to Russia."
It should be noted that last year Russia decided to return to the option of a joint project after leaving it. Then (before the decision to return to the project) it was considered that the role assigned to Russia was “insufficient”.
