Strategic Missile Forces continue rearmament to Yars missile systems
Strategic Missile Forces (Strategic Missile Forces) continue rearmament with new missile systems. According to Viktor Fotyuk, head of the Strategic Missile Forces combat training department, by the end of this year two regiments of the Strategic Missile Forces Barnaul division will be re-equipped at the Yars complexes.

Colonel General Sergei Karakaev, commander of the Strategic Missile Forces, had announced the completion of the rearmament of the Strategic Missile Forces to new complexes. According to the commander, the Topol ICBMs, which have already developed a guaranteed operational resource, are being decommissioned. They are being replaced by modern Yars missile systems. At the end of 2019, the troops received more than 150 launchers of the Yars complex in the mine and mobile versions. Each year, the Strategic Missile Forces receives about 20 launchers and the systems providing them.
In October last year, it became known that three regiments of the Strategic Missile Forces would be re-equipped with the new Yars-S missile system. The characteristics of the new systems were not disclosed, but it is known that, like its predecessors - Topol-M and Yars, the Yars-S complex is put on combat duty in two versions - in mobile and mine performance.
