Ukrainian military budget: what and how much they want to buy in 2020

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has decided on the costs allocated from the budget for the current 2020. The Ukrainian military intends to spend 22,735 321 billion hryvnias on the development, procurement, modernization and repair of weapons and military equipment, facilities and equipment. What will the allocated funds go to?

According to the published information, 22 development work is being carried out within the framework of the state defense order of Ukraine, two of which are at the stage of state testing (most likely here we are talking about the Neptune anti-ship missile and the Alder missile, the tests of which were reported recently). There are also two secret programs that are mentioned, but nothing specific is reported. According to them, the Ukrainian military intends to spend 1,1 billion and 251 million hryvnia, respectively.

The budget funds were allocated as follows: 11,113 764 billion hryvnias were allocated for the purchase and modernization of weapons and military equipment (AFV) of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces, 3,989 billion hryvnas were allocated for overhaul and other types of restoration work of the Armed Forces. For the purchase of weapons and military equipment under contracts concluded under state guarantee - 1,696 billion hryvnias. 021 billion hryvnias for the restoration of military hardware under contracts concluded under state guarantees. In total, according to the Ukrainian military department, 2,41 thousand units of weapons and military equipment require restoration.

For research and development (all 22 of the above-mentioned R&D) - 1,216 billion hryvnias.

299,474 million hryvnias are allocated for the creation of the Unified Automated Control System (EACU) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Ensuring the development of a communication system - 770,613 million hryvnias. Purchase of communication equipment under contracts concluded under state guarantees - 278,732 million hryvnias.

For the repair and modernization of the flagship of the Naval forces of Ukraine frigate "Getman Sagaidachny" - 436 million hryvnia. In addition, the Navy must receive after repair three warships and six new armored boats for various purposes under contracts that were concluded in previous years (probably we are talking about two landing assault boats of Project 58503 "Centaur-LK" L450 and one small armored artillery boats of the project 58155 "Gyurza-M", nothing else is known about three).

300 million hryvnias are allocated for the creation of ammunition production on the funds of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. In particular, for the production and assembly of ammunition, construction (reconstruction) works should be carried out at one of the military arsenals, and it is also planned to purchase and repair special arsenal and technological equipment. (for our part, we note that this program started back in 2017 and annually “stalls”, despite the annual high-profile statements). According to statements by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, the military is still spending Soviet stocks and purchasing ammunition in Eastern Europe.

Also 118,718 million hryvnias are allocated for repayment of accounts payable.

In total, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine intends to purchase weapons and military equipment in the following quantities (in units):

Armored vehicles under contracts concluded in previous years - 135, Armored vehicles under contracts of this year - 63, Armored vehicles, which will be delivered in the following budget periods - 1 unit.

Automotive technology under contracts from previous budget periods - 133, Automotive technology under this year's contracts - 225, Automotive equipment, which will be delivered later - 2 units.

Bpak (unmanned aviation complex) according to past contacts - 41 units, BPAC under contracts of the current year - 34, BPAC, which will be delivered next year - 3.

Air defense equipment under contracts of previous budget periods - 8, Air defense equipment under contracts of the current budget period - 3, Air defense equipment, which will be delivered in the following budget periods - 4 units.

Parachute kits - 343 units.

Armored boats for various purposes under contracts of previous years - 6 units.

Communication equipment under contracts of previous budget periods - 124, Communication equipment under contracts of the current budget period - 321.

Upgraded armored vehicles with technical repair according to the contracts of previous years - 4, Upgraded armored vehicles with technical repair under this year's contracts - 13 units.

Upgraded aircraft under contracts of previous years - 7, Upgraded aircraft under contracts of the current budget period - 13, Upgraded aircraft, which will be delivered in the following budget periods - 3 units.

On social obligations, on industry, on medicine, on education, crumbs remain in it and they are reduced. On the example of the notorious coronavirus, it can be seen that in Ukraine for all the time they did as many tests as in Russia it is done in one day.
