Professor Lung's strategy: Hong Kong explained the re-introduction of quarantine - with a "gentle regime"
Hong Kong is receiving news of a decision by the authorities to return the quarantine regime, which was canceled some time ago, after a decrease in the number of detected cases of COVID-19 infection in China.
The reports say that when the authorities decided to return the residents of the city to work again, after a short time the doctors had concerns because of the excessive crowding of people in public transport, at workplaces, and in other places of mass residence. On this basis, Hong Kong officials decided to take the advice of an expert in virology.
Particular attention was paid to this fact in Europe. In particular, the Italian Corriere della Sera writes:
It is noted that for residents of Hong Kong it is forbidden to visit cafes and restaurants, other entertainment venues in the evening and at night. The regime is established, which can be described as "home-work-home" with some indulgences, with a sparing mode.
In the daytime, visits to entertainment places are allowed, based on the norm - a company of no more than 4 people at one table. At the same time, the distance between the tables increases.
It is reported that such a strategy for the gradual return of Hong Kong to a "normal life" was developed by Gabriel Lung, a specialist in medicine in the profile department of the University of Hong Kong. Lung in Hong Kong is known for being at the forefront of confronting the SARS virus in 2002-2003.
