Indonesian marines intend to purchase another 79 armored personnel carriers BT-3F in Russia

Indonesia intends to conclude another contract for the supply of Russian BT-3F armored personnel carriers in the interests of the Indonesian marines. According to the Indonesian web resource Defense Studies, the Indonesian Ministry of Defense has approved a request for 3,6 trillion Indonesian rupees ($ 286 million) for the purchase of armored vehicles.

The Indonesian military department intends to purchase another 79 Russian BT-3F tracked armored personnel carriers to 21 already contracted, and thus bring the total number of these vehicles armed with the Marine Corps to 100 units. The first contract for the supply of 22 BMP-3F infantry fighting vehicles and 21 BT-3F tracked armored personnel carriers based on them was signed between the Ministry of Defense of Indonesia and Rosoboronexport in April last year. The contract value amounted to 175,2 million dollars. Deliveries are expected in 2021-2022, the Kurgan Engineering Plant is engaged in the manufacture of armored vehicles.

Indonesia became the first foreign country to receive the BT-3F armored personnel carrier. Earlier, Indonesian marines received 54 BMP-3F infantry fighting vehicles in the modification for the marine corps under two contracts: 17 BMP-3F vehicles and one BREM-L in 2010 under the 2009 contract, and another 37 BMP-3F vehicles in 2013 under the contract 2012 worth $ 114 million

The BT-3F caterpillar floating armored personnel carrier (Bronya Design Bureau) was originally developed on the basis of the BMP-3F with the aim of promoting primarily the Indonesian Marine Corps, which ultimately succeeded. The decision to create the BT-3F was approved in 2010, for the first time the BT-3F prototype was presented at the Army-2016 International Military Technical Forum.

In fact, since the sixties of the last century, they have been buying amphibious tanks from us, so they know our armored vehicles well, which suits this country, where there are many islands. I think that now the price / quality played a role in choosing these armored personnel carriers, which is why they decided to buy from us.

To me, this device is not very hysterical.
And the fact that a contract is concluded is certainly good.

If they buy, then well, the plants will work. I think the Americans will allow. They will not face sanctions. They prohibit buying from us only high-tech samples. And this is the usual armored personnel carrier ... ..

no barter. for every ram, I still understand if you can get good tea from India or from Ethiopia coffee, but don’t use any palm oils for nothing. And on credit you can give weapons only to trusted partners who pay with accuracy and regularly, and in no other way, the Soviet Union was on fire and helped half the world, and its citizens were poorer than the church mouse

Was it a little weak to write about the car itself? Or too lazy to collect information from different sources?
