Ruslan Gelayev. Liquidation
Ruslan Gelayev is one of the most odious characters of terrorist groups operating in the 1990s and early 2000s in the North Caucasus. The next date for its destruction by federal forces on the territory of Dagestan is approaching. This terrorist was eliminated, one of the nicknames of which sounded like “Black Angel” on February 28, 2004 in the Republic of Dagestan.
The militant has accounted for a large number of committed terrorist acts and sabotage, attacks on federal troops during the 1st and 2nd Chechen campaigns.
War correspondent Alexander Sladkov, once in the FSB archive, gained access to the Gelayev case, which has been kept under the heading “Top Secret” all these years.
In a film on the Sadkov + channel, he talks about how one of the most dangerous terrorists was eliminated.
The materials contain data on how the Gelaev’s detachment in December 2003 tried to pass by the frontier post in the Mokok region in order to enter Georgian territory. At the same time, initially the “Gelayevites” felt so confident that they were planning to go in the Georgian direction literally under the nose of Russian border guards.
During an attempt to break into Georgia in December 2003, the Gelayevites encountered border guards. As such, the battle did not work out - the militants fired dagger at the border guard servicemen. Details about the events of the end of 2003 - the beginning of 2004, about the liquidation of Gelayev - in the plot of Alexander Sladkov:
