In 2020, the implementation of arms modernization plans adopted back in 2012 is ending. Many samples today have no analogues in the leading armies of the world. Some of them have already entered the army and are beginning to infiltrate. Others will complete the development process only in 2020 and will soon be put into service in military units.
At the forefront - “Vanguard”
Probably the most important development of Russian gunsmiths is the Avangard intercontinental supersonic ballistic missile. The speed of this complex of global range at the stage of flight is 27 times higher than the speed of sound. Thus, he will be invulnerable to all existing anti-ballistic missiles. Their work is complicated by the fact that when approaching the target, the Vanguard begins to maneuver, creating serious obstacles to the work of the missile defense of a potential enemy.
The first Vanguards were delivered at the end of 2019 to one of the parts of the Orenburg Region, after which it is planned to equip military units with complexes in other regions of the Russian Federation.
The most modern anti-aircraft missile system of the Russian Federation is the S-500 Prometheus. Its entry into military units is scheduled for 2020. it weapon refers to the 5th generation.
Prometheus is an ultra-long hypersonic missile capable of hitting satellites in low orbit and intercontinental ballistic missiles at very high altitudes - up to 250 kilometers. This weapon is unique in that only it, the only one in the world, is capable of intercepting hypersonic targets. Moreover, this system can simultaneously lead and intercept up to 10 targets.
Russian Aerospace Forces
Apparently, in 2020, the main event for the Russian Aerospace Forces will be serial deliveries of new 5th generation Su-57 fighters.
It is also planned to deploy new Mi-28SM attack helicopters, as well as the first two Mi-38T transport and assault helicopters. In addition, it is planned to receive heavy modernized Mi-26T2V helicopters.
This year, it is also planned that the troops will receive five Il-22M11 control and relay aircraft.
The updated all-weather attack helicopter Mi-28NM, known as the "Night Hunter" and designed to destroy armored vehicles will begin to enter the troops in 2020. It has been significantly improved over the previous model. Until 2027, 98 such improved combat vehicles will enter the Armed Forces.
Another “hit” will be a 20-ton strike drone, developed by Sukhoi Design Bureau. He will be able to discreetly overcome enemy air defense systems and hit well-protected enemy targets with precision bombs.
Around September-October this year, the Northern Fleet will replenish with the new nuclear submarine Kazan. The submarine is the representative of the improved series 885M "Ash-M". Due to the almost complete noiselessness of the engines, it is very difficult to detect.
In total, this year the Russian fleet will receive six new submarines, which is a record since 1992. Among them will be the Belgorod nuclear submarine equipped with Poseidon submarine unmanned vehicles with nuclear power plants. By the way, protection from them has not yet been invented.
This year, BMP-3 equipped with a 57 mm gun and BMPT Terminator will enter the military units.
The Epoch remotely controlled combat system mounted on the BMP-3 contributes to the destruction of various targets, including armored vehicles. The Russian military will also receive BMP-2M equipped with Berezhok combat modules.
New items from the Kalashnikov concern
In 2020, the Kalashnikov concern is developing about 30 projects, among which there are small arms, equipment and light vehicles.
Last year, the RPK-16 machine gun and the new 9 mm self-loading pistol Udav were tested. The latter is likely to replace the legendary PM.
