Flame-throwing units of the RCB unit for the protection of the Southern Military District are being trained at the Prudboy proving ground in the Volgograd region.

More than 80 servicemen-flamethrowers master the new model of the TOS-1A (“Buratino”) heavy flame-thrower system with the new “Soltropyek” increased-range thermobaric projectile that was tested in the spring of this year.

The new ammunition increased the firing range and the mass of the warhead. Unlike its predecessor, its power increased by 15-20%.

Also flamethrowers get acquainted with the rocket infantry flamethrower of increased range and power RPO PDM-A "Shmel-M" (modernized), designed to defeat the enemy's firing points from brick or concrete, as well as lightly armored automotive equipment and manpower of the enemy in the premises and in the open terrain
