Indian Air Force received another four AH-64E Apache Guardian helicopters
The Indian Air Force received another four attack aircraft AH-64E Apache Guardian. The equipment was delivered unassembled to the Hindon airbase in Uttar Pradesh from the Arizona State Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport by An-124 Ruslan aircraft.
Unlike the helicopters previously delivered by the Indian Air Force, the new batch of vehicles does not have the Indian Air Force serial numbers. Earlier, the Indian Air Force adhered to the policy of not showing serial numbers in official photographs, but this time, presumably, they were specially painted over. It is assumed that until the last shipment, the Indian Air Force received 12 AH-64E Apache helicopters with serial numbers from ZV4801 to ZV4812, and delivered vehicles have serial numbers from ZV4813 to ZV4816.
The official ceremony of handing over the first of the 22 ordered AH-64E Apache helicopters to the Indian Air Force was held at the Boeing Corporation in Mesa (Arizona) on 10 on May 2019. The delivery of the entire batch of attack helicopters is planned to be completed by the 2020 year.
As previously reported, the first AH-64E Apache Guardian squadron was formed at the Pathankot Air Force Base in Punjab. The second squadron should be stationed at the Jorhat air base in Assam. Each squadron will include 10 helicopters, two more will remain in reserve in case of loss.
Recall that the agreement between India and the United States to supply 22 helicopters AH-64E Apache Guardian was signed 28 September 2015 of the year. Except the helicopter IAF obtained even accompanying weapons and equipment, which includes 12 radar AN / APG-76 Longbow, 812 guided missiles AGM-114L-3 Longbow Hellfire and 542 rocket GM-114R-3 Hellfire II, and 242 FIM rocket -92H Stinger Block I in the air-to-air variant.
