Ukrainian Su-27 escorted a Neptune cruise missile
In Ukraine, a video was published showing the testing of the P-360 cruise missile.
We are talking about the cruise missile RK-360МЦ "Neptune". The military department of Ukraine announced that during the tests the rocket "made a flight of several hundred kilometers."
From the report:
About what specific distance the cruise missile of the Neptune complex has covered, the Ukrainian command does not report.
The ground-based Ukrainian Neptune complex is equipped with anti-ship missiles, which are said to be capable of hitting and sinking ships up to the cruising class.
The manufacturer RK-360MC “Neptune” claims that armament is capable of hitting individual ships and even strike naval groups in any meteorological conditions, as well as when interfering with the use of electronic warfare by the enemy.
The P-360 rocket itself is actually a development of the Soviet X-35 rocket. It is subsonic. Initially, it was reported that a cruise anti-ship missile is designed to destroy ships with a displacement of not more than 5 thousand tons. During the April tests this year, the rocket covered a distance of approximately 220 km.
The video shows footage of launching an anti-ship missile and shooting its flight from the side of a fighter. It is seen how the Su-27 flies at about the same speed as the P-360, including at a fairly low altitude above the sea.
