Work on modernization of the dry dock continues at the 35th Shipyard of the Zvyozdochka Center
At the 35 shipyard in Murmansk, work is ongoing to modernize the dry dock. According to the press service of Zvezdochka Ship Repair Center JSC, the work is planned to be completed within 2020 of the year.
On November 22, 2019, a group of high-ranking officials visited the 35th Shipyard in Murmansk, which included: Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, Governor of the Murmansk Region Andrei Chibis, Commander of the North fleet Alexander Moiseev and USC President Aleksey Rakhmanov. They inspected the progress of modernization of the dry dock, visited the production sites of the “35 ship repair plant” and the Admiral Kuznetsov Tavkr.
As the press service of the Zvyozdochka CS explained, preparations are underway for the main work on the reconstruction of the dry dock. Work continues on the dismantling of piers and an interdock bridge, the manufacture and immersion of pipe dowels.
Recall that the contract for the modernization of the dry dock at the 35 shipyard for docking Admiral Kuznetsov was signed in July 2019 after the flooding of the floating dock PD-50. According to the bmpd blog, the modernization of the dry dock of the 35 SRZ consists in the reconstruction of two adjacent dry docks of the plant (one with a length of 187 m and a width at the top of 28 m and another with a length of 236 m and a width at the top 30,8 m, both docks have a width at the bottom by 22 m) into one large dock by demolishing the partitions between them. As a result of modernization, the largest dry dock in Russia will be created for receiving large vessels and ships, which will have a length of 335 m and a width along the bottom of 60 m and on top of 70 m.
It is planned to complete the full modernization of the dry dock with the renewal of all hydraulic structures - walls, slipway slabs, dock equipment and other things - over the next year.
