Ukraine strengthens the protection of maritime borders. According to Ukrainian media, the government approved the purchase of twenty patrol ships (boats) of the French company OSEA.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine supported the project to strengthen the maritime security and border protection through the acquisition of 20 French patrol boats. The corresponding agreement between the governments of Ukraine and France is planned to be signed in the near future, after which it must be ratified by the Verkhovna Rada.
The contract value is 136,5 million euros, of which 85% of the funds as a loan will be provided by France. Boats should be delivered within three years with partial localization of production in Ukraine.
Implementation of the project is planned, including with partial financing from credit funds of both commercial banks and treasury loans from the French Ministry of Finance. The loan is provided by the state of France. 15% is paid by Ukraine from the budget. 85% loan funds

The agreement also provides for after-sales service, training of 240 crew members and 120 technical personnel, spare parts and tools necessary for maintenance during 2 years of operation, technical support in Ukraine (one technician and engineer of the manufacturer’s company) within 60 months from the date deliveries of the first ship to Ukraine, delivery of ships to Odessa and insurance for the transition.
