Two RTOs of the 22800 Karakurt project launched in Feodosia

RTOs "Kozelsk" towed to the "Pella"

On October 9 at the Shipyard “More” the 22800 project Kozelsk was launched. The October 17 ship was tugged off by inland waterways to the Pella parent plant, where it will be completed and tested. The second RTO Okhotsk was launched on October 29 and is currently being prepared for towing to Pella, where it will also be completed.

RTO "Kozelsk" (laid out as "Storm") of the 22800 project, is the lead ship of this class, laid down at the Ship "Ship" 10 on May 2016. The first serial RTO "Okhotsk" was laid in Feodosia on 17 on March 2017 of the year. The second serial MRK "Whirlwind" was laid on December 19 2017 of the year, currently under construction.

In total, the Pella shipyard received a contract for the construction of seven Project 22800 small missile ships, four of which were decided to be built at the Pella shipyard, and three at the More shipyard in Feodosia. All the ships of the series, except the first two, are equipped with the Pantsir-M anti-aircraft missile-gun complex (ZRPK). At the head RTO "Mytishchi" and the first serial "Sovetsk", which have already become part of the Baltic fleet, The Pantsir-M air defense system was not installed, they are used 30-mm artillery mounts AK-630.

RTOs of this project have a length of 67 meters, a width of 11 meters and a draft of 4 meters. Displacement - about 800 tons, cruising range - up to 2500 miles, autonomy - 15 days. The main armament is one UKKSK (universal ship complex) 3X14 missile launcher on the 8 KR Caliber, one 76-mm AK-176MA gun mount, ZRAK Panzir-M, two 14.5-mm or 12,7-mm machine-gun mounts MTTPU.

in the future, it is possible to build MPC (small anti-submarine ships) on the basis of these RTOs by adding a retractable wing-mounted hull as for minesweepers of the 12700 ave.

Corvettes of the project 20380 are now the real IPC. It will not be possible to make a full-fledged IPC from "Karakurt", the displacement will not be enough.

you probably have a comparison with the IPC, etc. 1124 where the displacement is 900-1100 tons
            RTO pr.22800 = 800 t. TRSC pr.12700 = 800-900 t. IPC pr.1331 = 860 t.
as an option, the MPC is generally desirable in a fiberglass case
or even on the basis of a minesweeper pr. 12700 Alexandrite - adding PU under the PLURA Caliber

in general, it is wonderful in that it can be driven across the rivers through GDP, which can even be based in Tuapse, that is small and remote, that the series is large and inexpensive. Not that a terrible, unnecessary aircraft carrier is bulky (and there’s nowhere to repair it and eats millions of rubles) expensive and vulnerable like Karakurt, Take all corvettes and frigates to the oceans, and equip all the seas with Karakurt PLO and MRK. And the aircraft carrier to sell to India or China!

Two small missile ships (MRK) of project 22800 "Karakurt" were launched without much publicity at the shipyard "More" in Feodosia.

Because Pella does not want to be subject to US sanctions. Pella also builds many civil vessels with foreign equipment (for example, Caterpillar power plants are installed on tugs). Pella has her own facilities in Germany. Why does she need wide publicity.
According to the bmpd blog, both ships will be completed afloat at the Leningrad Shipyard Pella.

Pella has rented the Sea, which ends on 31.12.2019. Therefore, it is customary to drag the buildings to St. Petersburg and calmly, using the experience gained, complete the construction and hand over their orders with much less problems.

Karakurt is not a fleet of the near sea zone, it is primarily our way of circumventing the INF Treaty.

These cowboys are rocket carriers with a range of 2600 km. They will not even have to go to sea in the event of a conflict, they will directly hit the berths from missile defense systems, airfields, a bridge, fuel and lubricant depots and military equipment of NATO countries.

Directly from the pier, they will be charged and again at the bases, warehouse, NATO bridges, and so on until the white flag is hoisted.

Not bad idea. Only now the United States withdrew from the INF Treaty and the relevance of such ships came to naught.

But until the ground OTRK, NATO countries did not deploy these RTOs in Europe to themselves an argument and a deterrent.

But the Iskander with a rocket of 2600 km already needs to be done.

Mobile platform of cruise missiles ..... it is clear that they have enough range for the gamer to "comb", and the launch from the pier is attractive because it is possible to recharge the installations !!! But, if anything, the missile attack will begin and end quickly, if it will be a really serious conflict. You will hardly need to recharge.
Not a supporter, I do not believe in a limited, small-town conflict with a serious adversary .... everything can happen quickly and .... in short, a complete armahide!

Here recently, several Hussite cruise missiles flew through several lines of American air defense and set fire to the largest refinery in Saudi Arabia.

As you can see, even Western air defense at least does not always save from cruise missiles.

Now imagine that there will be not 10 missiles, but a volley of 50-80 missiles. Moreover, after the Iskanders work out everything that will threaten us within a radius of 480 km.

It's quite the opposite. When Crimea returned, the question became who would be the owner of the plant, and temporarily transferred to the ownership of the Crimean government, but it was looking for someone to transfer it to. PELLA reacted the fastest (Tsaturov, with all the others, must be given credit, the grip is still the same), and everything was "agreed" with the government of Crimea. Also, it was clear that to support the trousers of the Crimean factories in view of breaking old contracts, sanctions, and other transition costs, they would receive a state order. Immediately, a decision was born, initiated by PELLA, they say we have a plant, we have a state order for the continuation of the series, and we will build them there. It was only at that time that the "revolutionary democracy" and the trade union of the plant were still operating, and at the general meeting of employees who elected the new director of PELLE, a lapel was given, since no one then heard anything about her, they thought almost a one-day office, everyone wanted to surrender to Almaz (because they worked with him in Soviet times, and not even knowing that now they are already different separate companies), or at the Alekseev Central Design Bureau of the SEC. If PELLA's management had even a small idea of people's mentality and an analysis of moods, it would have been worth a penny PR campaign and would have been covered in chocolate. Especially against, of course, were the "women's collectives of pre-retirement age" who simply "went to work", and also planted flowers in the offices and drank tea. Engineers-specialists and workers who were confident in themselves were on the drum, if only there were orders and work. But PELLA was persistent, as a compromise she received the plant on lease, with the aim of further obtaining ownership for which she carried out a good modernization, also received an additional series of state orders for RTOs with the obligation to build on the Sea. And then the "wedding" did not take place ... As a result, PELLA brought its workers and hired partly local teams only for fixed-term contracts. With this kind of "joint work", "mutual dislike" ended up. Now the shipyard is looking forward to the end of the lease term and the start of construction of hydrofoils with relief, and PELLA is also with the same relief (albeit some disappointment) for the completion of the remote construction of "its" orders ...
