Croatia will become the fifth Eastern European country to receive UH-60M Black Hawk U.S. multi-role helicopters. The US State Department approved the sale of two new Black Hawks to the Croatian armed forces.

On October 30 this year, the US Department of Defense Agency for Defense Cooperation (DSCA) sent a notice to the US Congress about the planned upcoming sale of two new Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawk multi-purpose helicopters to Croatia. Delivery will be made as part of the American program of intergovernmental foreign military sales Foreign Military Sales (FMS). The total cost of the proposed delivery will amount to 115 million dollars.
Croatia will receive two more UH-60M helicopters of a new construction from the USA in 2020-2021 in the form of military assistance. Thus, the Croatian army will be armed with four American helicopters, which should replace the Soviet-made Mi-8 military transport helicopters, which Croatia inherited from the Yugoslav army. Earlier, the United States approved the sale of the UH-60 Black Hawk to Slovakia, Albania, Latvia and Lithuania.
