AR-15: "Spray-Spit"

26
Weapon and firms. Ghost Gun, or "ghost weapon", is a term that was coined in the United States by proponents of control of the proliferation of weapons, and which has become very popular. As you know, the American constitution is loyal to its citizens regarding the possession of weapons. But this does not mean that in America there are no laws governing its acquisition, storage and use. By the way, the United States has the most stringent laws in the world regarding the deactivation of weapons. It is customary for us to drill a barrel or weld a metal rod into it, drill a bolt, and cut a striker. That is, they are treated fairly carefully. There, they ruthlessly cut weapons, so that they could not be restored in any way. And there are good reasons for this. The fact is that the American police do not want the appearance of a “ghost weapon,” which today is becoming more and more a real factor in American life. Yes, we all heard that American citizens are law-abiding. But this does not exclude the possibility that there will not be one on the 100 ... not the same as the others, and he will just make the AR-15 rifle with his own hands and kill one of her. Until now, we talked about how these rifles are made by US firms and also in other countries. Today is our story about how this rifle can be made, being an American, at home. And not just make. Because it will just become a "ghost weapon."

AR-15: "Spray-Spit"

And I shoot from the "arch" with a home-made receiver - well, cool !!!

And me too!!!

In general, there is nothing particularly terrible in this name itself. This is just a semi-automatic rifle, but without a serial number, which the police do not know about. Here again we turn to American laws. And they say that not every part of it is a weapon, but above all a “receiver” (lower receiver), since this is the basis of its design. That is, the law of the United States determines that the “receiver” is the “firearms”. That's because the serial number is applied to it, which is registered at the police station when buying a rifle. No numbers - no rifles, no weapons. These are American laws. If you wish, you can buy a tank there at auction. True, his gun will be deactivated. But no one bothers you to buy tank machine gun and not even one. And put them on the tank. And you will have a real tank, but only with machine gun weapons.

All black parts can be bought at the store. The shiny part is made on a DD machine. It is her presence that makes all other details a weapon!

And now the most important thing. If a modern American wants to get hold of a “ghost weapon”, he only needs to pay out $ 67 for a piece of aluminum and $ 500 for a computer-controlled milling machine manufactured by Defense Distributed. This company gained fame in 2012 - 2013 years when it printed its first plastic gun “Liberator” on an ZD-printer. It had only one metal part - the firing pin for the capsule, and all the other 17 parts were plastic. But it was still plastic. That is, fragile material, actually designed for only a few shots. In addition, the company was forbidden to post its developments on the Internet, including this gun. A lawsuit lasted several years between the US State Department and Defense Distributed, and it ended in July 2018 with the fact that the company was able to obtain permission to freely distribute its weapon models. After that, the company created the Ghost Gunner machine, which can already cut parts for weapons from aluminum. Of course, a skilled gunsmith could have previously made a metal receiver for the AR-15 in his garage. It was enough to have drilling and milling machines and it was possible to make the receiver no worse than the factory one. But ... this required skills, knowledge and skills. Now none of this is needed.

It all started with this plastic gun.

Here is a set of its parts

And so he looked, being collected

Yes, in principle, it is not at all difficult to buy an AR-15 rifle in the USA. Ho, you can make a receiver for it yourself, and buy all the other parts for it. The fact is that they are practically not regulated anywhere. For example, there is an Ares Armor website where you can order all its parts, including the barrel and bolt, and you only need a delivery address. Moreover, although the sale and purchase of “Cooking-confectionery” is prohibited by law, its manufacture is permitted. And if it is allowed, then ... you can buy 80% semi-finished receiver for the "arch" and finish it yourself. But again - this will require skill. It’s like a prefabricated model of a plastic tank or aircraft. It seems that all the parts in the kit are there, it remains to separate them from the frame and glue them carefully. But ... someone does it, but someone doesn’t. So for the vast majority of modern Americans, this is not an option. Of course, we are talking about those of them who planned to make an “arch” - ghost gun.

Printout in 3D printing technology

3D printing today is a very fashionable thing and, by the way, also allows you to make weapon parts. To do this, you can use the Makerbot Replicator machine at a cost of $ 2800. On The Pirate Bau website in 2013, you could find a box layout for the AR-15, completely ready for the ZD print. The scheme is downloaded as usual, loaded, and you can print the part. True, the print head is overheated from work and it requires time to open, and then the interrupted process starts again. Details can be made this way in one night, but you will need to remove the backing plastic. And he, in addition, fills in all the minor holes. Nevertheless, there are videos on YouTube that show how you can print a custom box made of plastic, which may well be able to withstand a few shots.

The “lower receiver” is ready for processing at 80%. Which, of course, is more convenient than starting work on it from scratch.

And so it looks after processing on the Ghost Gunner machine

However, today there are already such machines that make it possible to fully manufacture a part of any complexity. This is primarily the Ghost Gunner, which provides a black cube with two stepping motors. It can work either with the GRBL program, or with DDCut - the Windows-program, and the manual for the manufacture of the original box attached to this machine is designed specifically for the use of DDCut. You buy a machine, then a blank for self-production of the receiver (ready already at 80%) and, by clicking the button, you begin to monitor how it is finalizing it. Sometimes the program gives the command to change the position of the parts, tighten or loosen the fasteners, change the cutter or remove the guard. Almost four hours are needed to make a part. But then you get a rifle part that is perfect for all of its factory components!

By the way, today you can already order a frame for the popular Colt M1911.45ACP pistol in the USA with an 80% degree of readiness. Price - $ 140.00

You do not want to bother with the traditional "Colt" and you like the plastic Glock19 / 23 Gen3? No problems! You order a plastic frame at DD, finish it again on their machine and ... buy the missing parts. And now you have in your hands your own personal model of the Glock. This is how the frame looks to it

And here is the assembled gun!

After that, it will take another hour to assemble the AR-15. This is how the nameless receiver turns into a weapon from which you can kill, but which is not tracked in any way, since it does not have a serial number.

This is what this machine looks like

Set of cutters and fixtures

Well, and so he is working on the main part for AR-15

According to American law, such weapons, and especially the receiver, must be destroyed by a gas burner so that it could not be repaired by any force. By the way, you need to know and remember one more “trick”. This product is illegal, that is, banned in the states of New Jersey and New York. So if you live in the Big Apple, don’t try to buy anything from DD or buy it in another state, and enter “this” here! Well, now, how much will it all cost the American? This has been calculated for a long time: $ 1ЗЗ4 version with the manufacture of a receiver on a ZD printer: and the variant already mentioned above using the Ghost Gunner machine manufactured by Defense Distributed, including ordering their own set of milling cutters and drills for $ 86. But is it really such a big fee for killing from a "ghost weapon"? And how seductive, isn't it? And from 2020 of the year, DD will release a semi-finished product for ... AK-47!

But this is already subject to registration with the police ... or not. It all depends on what kind of citizen you are. Law abiding or not!

Mdaaa. What is the profit for us from this? And I’m sure that they’ll soon close this shop. The message is clear: the future lies with 3D technology. Print as many drones as you like, for example, and break through any air defense, extinguishing it with a number of targets ... About simpler and smaller things such as compact mines and other things I’m silent. In 10 years we’ll get chaos)))

They won’t cover anything! In general, the problem is sucked out of the finger. In many states, the secondary arms market is not regulated at all! Those. you can quite legally become the owner of a weapon without presenting any documents at all, without going through registration, certification, etc.

Don't exaggerate. Nowhere, including the secondary market, you will not be sold without showing a driver's license. On which you will be instantly "punched". Even in pawnshops where you can buy very good pistols and rifles you will be asked for your license. And this is in the most democratic states for arms such as North Carolina or Georgia. Evidence .... I myself am Zaokenan and I can judge this without using someone else's opinion.

Of course, there are places where you will not be asked about anything and will sell anything, and much cheaper than 2800 dollars per machine. But it will be already stolen or "burned" weapons. The article is not about that.

Normally, I bought a gun for water and don’t buzz, it’s interesting for them there as for taxes on all payments for the possession of weapons, in Russia, as for hunting I know about pay for it, pay for it, it will stick off like sticky

A real breakthrough will be when the 3D printer will print the details from which a person with the necessary minimum knowledge will be able to assemble another 3D printer. Which will be able to print a new 3D printer. Well, you understand;)

I still did not understand, but from scratch is it possible to make the same receiver in this "DD-machine"?
And in principle, why? On the market, what kind of hosh and appers and lovers are for every taste and color.

Otpad! But all this does not shine for us. Yes, and it seems to be useless, there is Lugansk with Donetsk at hand - I don’t want to drag it without any printers. I don’t know how now, but at the very beginning from there the trunks were almost dumped with dump trucks, and mainly to the Caucasus. And it will end there, muddied in some other place, without this, nowhere.

Thanks to Vyacheslav Olegovich, I swallowed it in one spirit. hi

This product is illegal, that is, banned in the states of New Jersey and New York.
Not only. Since 2016, in California, anyone who wants to make their own weapons must pass a police check and get a registration number.
A similar requirement was introduced from the first of October this year in Connecticut, even more stringent, since it requires engraving the received number on the manufactured weapons.

The problem, in my opinion, is sucked out of the finger. The weapons market in the usa, both legal and illegal, is simply huge.
It’s a little unclear how weapons are tracked, or rather, crimes using it. We have a bulletproof library. And there? If the receiver number is tied to a person, and I can freely change the barrel and trigger mechanism at least once a week, then how will I be tracked?
    1. +1
      9 November 2019 10: 32
No way. A single federal bulletproof library for manufactured weapons simply does not exist. You have the right both to make it personally and to order from the gunsmith any necessary barrel, to buy the bolt completely ready or in parts. You have the right (by law) without personally obtaining a license, but without outside assistance, and without the right of subsequent sale / donation, to make weapons for yourself personally from blanks that have no more than 80% readiness. This requires only ordinary metalwork tools and machine tools (if you can handle metal, you can do without machine tools), and a set of template plates with intended holes that you need to cut / drill yourself. Everything else (receiver blank, barrel, shutter and its parts, etc.) is bought freely. There is no obligation to register self-made weapons. Prohibition of manufacture - only for fully automatic weapons, which require a special license.

In accordance with American law, anyone can independently make weapons for themselves, but without outside help, and without the right to alienate these weapons in any way. Therefore, the semi-finished market is not more than 80% ready. Having bought such a lower receiver, and to it a set of plates with pre-defined holes, on an ordinary metalworking machine, all the missing cavities and holes are sawed and drilled. Cannot make fully automatic weapons. Everything else to the receiver is bought quite legally. There is no need to obtain a license, there is no need for registration and even just marking the received carbine / gun.

    1. The receiver is the box to (in) which the barrel is attached to. When translated from a foreign language, it is now called a receiver (?).
    2. What the author calls the lower receiver is the trigger box in which the trigger is located, the neck of the store, etc.
    3. The manufacturer puts the number on the weapon on all the main parts of the weapon.
    4. In photo No. 3 where supposedly all parts of the arch are missing or not pulled out of the receiver of the shutter frame with the shutter.

Then what is now stopping serious gangs and drug cartels from arming their mini armies to the teeth with automatic weapons that are nowhere considered? It is clear that the mafia does not particularly bother with sources of weapons. But the factory AK-15 is a serious argument, not ordinary farts.
