Two oceanographic vessels launched at the Yantar Shipyard for the GUGI of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation
Yantar Shipyard launched two oceanographic research vessels under construction in the interests of the Main Directorate for Deep-Water Research (GUGI) of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. We are talking about the vessel of the 02670 project "Eugene Goriglejan" and the vessel of the 22010 project "Almaz".
The Almaz vessel is the second vessel of the 22010 project being built at the Baltic Yantar Shipyard and the first serial vessel after the main Yantar vessel. The 22010 project was initiated by the Ministry of Defense in the interests of the Main Directorate for Deepwater Research. The lead ship is named after the manufacturer Yantar, the second ship of the project is named after the design bureau that developed the project, Almaz. The lead oceanographic research vessel Yantar was handed over to the Russian Navy in 2016, at the same time the first production Almaz was launched.
Displacement of "Diamond" will be 5200 tons, hull length - 108,1 meters, width - 17,2 meters. Cruising range - 8000 miles, speed - 15 knots, autonomy - 60 days, crew - 60 people.
Unlike the lead vessel, Almaz lost its helipad, but it will accommodate two more deep-sea vehicles on it. The deep-sea vehicles Mir-1 and Mir-2, which were formerly located on the academic vessel Akademik Mstislav Keldysh, will join the crewless autonomous vehicles of the Rus and Consul class.
The main purpose of the 22010 project vessel is to study the oceans, including the bottom at great depths. It can also be used for rescue purposes, the equipment installed on it will allow you to search for sunken objects on the sea and ocean floor.
OIS "Evgeniy Goriglezhan" is being created on the basis of the MB-305 rescue tug, built in Poland, at the Shchecin shipyard in 1983 and serving in the Northern and Baltic fleets, which reduced the cost of its construction by 40%. According to the project 02670 "Almaz Central Design Bureau" it was reequipped for underwater technical work, environmental monitoring of the marine environment, oceanographic survey of the bottom layer, and assistance to the search and rescue forces at sea.
The formal laying (actually re-laying) of the vessel was carried out on March 19 of the 2016 of the year, while the deadline was then called the 2017 year. The displacement of the vessel after conversion should be 4 thousand tons, length - 81 m, width - 16 m, autonomy - 30 days, crew - 32 people and 25 expedition members.
