State tests of the frigate Admiral Kasatonov began in the Northern Fleet

At the Northern Shipyard, they confirmed the frigate’s transition from the Baltic Fleet to the Northern Fleet, where state tests of the ship have already begun, which go in parallel with the factory chassis. At the moment, the commissioning team and the frigate’s crew closed 18 from 80 certificates under the state testing program. In particular, the State Acceptance Commission has already accepted the work of the main power plant, communication and navigation systems, deck mechanisms, crew living conditions.
As stated in the press release distributed by the Severnaya Verf shipyard, the frigate is currently preparing for testing of weapons, military equipment and the complex aviation equipment, which will take place in November at one of the Northern Fleet’s testing grounds.
According to the plans of the North Shipyard manufacturing plant, the frigate will be transferred to the Navy by the end of the year.
The frigate “Admiral Kasatonov” is the second ship of the 22350 project and the first serial ship after the lead frigate “Admiral Gorshkov”. The displacement of 5 is thousands of tons with a length of 135 m and a width of 16 m. The frigate is able to go 4500 miles, thus developing speed to 29 nodes. The autonomy of swimming is 30 days. Crew - from 170 people.
Main power plant: gas turbine engine with a total capacity of 65 thousand liters. pp., diesel generators with a total capacity of 4 thousand kW.
The frigate is armed with: 130-mm artillery A-192 installation, anti-aircraft missile the Poliment-Redut complex, launchers for 16 Onyx or Kalibr anti-ship missiles, the Paket anti-submarine complex, and the Ka-27 anti-submarine helicopter.
