At the first string of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline, the last test phase before commissioning began - filling the offshore section with gas. According to the project operator, commercial operation of the pipeline will begin before the end of this year.

It is noted that all work is going on schedule, the first gas through the Turkish Stream will go to Turkey according to the agreements. By the end of the year, both lines of the gas pipeline should be launched: for the supply of Russian gas to Turkish consumers and the second for gas supply to the countries of Southern and Southeast Europe, each with a capacity of 15,75 billion cubic meters.
At the same time, Gazprom notified Ukraine and the EU of the need to resolve litigation with Naftogaz before concluding a new contract for gas transit through Ukrainian territory. According to Alexei Miller, head of the Russian gas holding, Russia will negotiate a new gas transit contract only if there are no legal disputes.
- he said, adding that in the event that Ukraine does not switch to European gas legislation before the end of the year, the only proposal for Russia from it will be to extend the existing transit contract for one year.
