Turkish army will adopt Altay MBT no later than 2021
MBT Altay will be adopted by the Turkish army no later than 2021 year. In the spring of this year, the developers of the development company announced a series of tests of a tank model with enhanced mine protection. As shown by the military operations of the Turkish troops against the Kurds, the main losses of heavy armored vehicles occurred due to mine explosions. It is noted that the anti-mine protection on XBT "Altai" in the end will outperform the protection of the German Leopard-2.
Altay received the main stabilized gun caliber 120 millimeters and a machine gun caliber 12,7 millimeters. The tank can reach speeds of up to 70 kilometers per hour, and its range is about 500 kilometers. 60 tank weighs tons.
