Vietnam banned cartoon because of pro-Chinese map

12
Vietnam outlawed Dreamworks' new cartoon, Everest (Abominable), as it showed a map showing China's claims to the disputed part of the South China Sea.

Several countries, including Vietnam, Malaysia, Brunei and the Philippines, have claims to this area. Beijing declares its rights to a significant part of it, calling this region a "nine-dot line."

At the same time, the frame from Everest, now widely distributed on Twitter, shows a map on which the Beijing version of the delimitation in the South China Sea is clearly visible.

Vietnam banned cartoon because of pro-Chinese map

We will revoke the film license

- said Ta Kuang Dong, deputy minister of culture, sports and tourism.

Reuters, citing an employee of the National Cinema Center, also reports that this decision was a direct response to the demonstration of the controversial card.

The territorial confrontation became more violent in October after Vietnam announced that a Chinese ship had rammed and sunk its fishing vessel.

In 1988, in a short but fierce maritime conflict, Beijing recaptured several islands of the Spratly Archipelago from Hanoi. This happened less than 10 years after the PRC invasion of northern Vietnam, which brought a large number of destruction and casualties.

We will revoke the film’s license, said Ta Quang Dong, deputy minister of culture, sports and tourism.

When does the Minister of Culture of Russia V. Medinsky say the same for the rental of anti-Russian films.

Well, the Chinese have long been famous for their territorial fantasies, but they only have a thin gut .. Vietnam is remembered, just like the Soviet Union, they cleaned the nasophobia in a couple of days .... soldier We can repeat that it’s enough to cool off the Chinese dreams and will again sit near the river and wait for the enemy’s corpse to float .. (we have such Chinese wisdom.) But we don’t like to be wise and we’ll charge the bream right away with the nosew, as before ... heh heh

On the contrary. It was the Chinese who cleaned them. But they were afraid of the reaction of the USSR.

Another region, where everything is against everyone! Now it has become quieter, but it can not be worse than a conflict between Sunnis and Shiites

Incidentally, one must remember that these claims are more than the PRC, that is, the border of China was designated even under Chiang Kai-shek, and therefore both the PRC and the Republic of China claim to the islands there. The latter incidentally and actually controls the largest of the islands of the Spratly archipelago.

In a film, a map flashed where Alaska belongs to the Soviet Union ... By the way, the film was shot not so long ago. They will not show in America either.
