American "Valkyries" XQ-58A will be launched from sea containers

The launch system of the latest American unmanned aerial vehicles XQ-58A Valkyrie, most likely, will be located inside standard sea cargo containers. As he writes "NPlus1" with reference to The Drive, the developer company Kratos introduced just such a storage system drone and its launch.

American "Valkyries" XQ-58A will be launched from sea containers

The American company Kratos has developed the option of transporting and placing the drone along with the launch system in a standard sea container. According to the developers, such a transportation scheme will allow for the covert movement of devices, as well as significantly expand the possibilities of its use, since everything necessary for launching is already placed in the container.

The new launch system is a catapult with an XQ-58A drone already mounted on it without wings installed, which are separately located on the walls of the container. Before launching the catapult on rails extends from the container, wings are attached to the drone and launch is carried out.

As previously reported, Valkyrie has a length of 9,1 meters and a wingspan of 8,2 meters. The device is capable of carrying combat load weighing 272 kilograms in the internal arms bays or on the external sling and can fly at altitudes up to 13,7 thousands of meters.

The Kratos XQ-58 Valkyrie is a stealth UAV (UCAV), designed and manufactured for the Low Cost Assault Mission Program (LCASD). The Valkyrie UAV made its first successful 5 flight on March 2019 at the Yuma Test Site, Arizona. After the completion of the program, the US Air Force intends to acquire several units of XQ-58A drones, which will already be tested as unmanned aerial vehicles for fighters. Tests within the framework of this project are planned to begin in the 2021 year and be completed within 2-3 years.

So it’s kind of blowing him away

This was an isolated case due to a strong squat wind and a malfunction in the landing system, as The TEMPORARY landing system, consisting of a parachute and airbags, was used on the prototype.

made for the low cost strike mission program

    really cheap and angry want?
And so, only to arrange pirate raids, everywhere and everywhere! moreover, do not drive expensive military units there!
However, quite expectedly, they are "rich pinocchio", but the price will save another, and they will not refuse!

Inaudible while crying about the air intake, which "kills invisibility."
Oh yes, this is an American BP, democratic.
About our round dance would be here already.

What does the air intake have to do with it, it is on all planes, it's not a rocket. The main thing for Kratos is that the engine nozzle is closed from the ground, which partially reduces the thermal spectrum.

On many (or even all) jet drones, air intakes are located on top. This is probably why you cry and don’t hear.

You, as usual, did not understand the technical details.
Su-57 air intakes with a direct channel shouted through
which in front are visible blades of engines.
They are clearly visible by the enemy aircraft radar in the oncoming approach.
On American stealth air intakes are semi-"S" shaped.

This size and on the ground can be painless. Stronger belly, or retractable ski. On the Me-163 and Arado 234 such a full-time landing was. Yes, even if just the engine with electronics survives - FIG with this cheap carbon fiber glider.
And well done Americans. They are looking, poking back and forth ... In short, now they are trampling the road for everyone, no matter how insulting.

We need either a breakthrough in the field of AI, or a double fighter. Like drums, drones are still weak. And the pilot, in a difficult situation, and so have to turn his head, once the drones fall.

By 2030, they promise the brains of the right level. 200 watts, 5 kilos and the price is a piece of today's bucks. And the "pilot" will strain over a glass of beer in the barracks.
E-he-he. Americans are forging the future. No sausage, no chevretka with high fur boots, no "a year in two".

But what if the satellite repeater broke, and if they all broke?

The first is that an airplane with a pilot without communication with the ground and others will not be able to do much now.
The second is "brains" and means autonomous flight. Or do you think that they cannot do them even to the level of the reflexes and instincts of a crow? Yes, it's real now
And what do you mean "all broke"? There is a MTBF, and they will proceed from it. Voyager and New Horizons have been working for years and even decades - and nothing.

In 1944, there was the "plane" Bahem "Nutter". He took off vertically, the autopilot plus radio commands from the ground
completed the bombing of 1 km. Further control was transferred to the pilot. He let out a pack of Nurses and jumped out. Anti-aircraft missile with a man. Now it’s funny. In 20 years, people will talk
"Can you imagine, before they put people on airplanes, in the dark"

Invented with container placement of UAVs

We have long had a container version of Clab. The American version has one feature:
The new launch system is a catapult with an XQ-58A drone already mounted on it without wings installed, which are separately located on the walls of the container. Before launching the catapult on rails extends from the container, wings join the drone and the launch is made.

As I understand it, there is still a technician to be attached. what

In my opinion, this is the expected development of the project. In the USA, the optimization of logistics is now a trend - quadratic practical gut. Containers with a retractable launch pad and a control compartment from the other end are quite suitable for storage on aircraft carriers and field operations bases. It’s necessary to bring down - I loaded the container and girder; you have to step - he lowered the container and forward. The mission will be received from the United States, via satellites, the AI will take on almost all the functions of the combat mission, and ground personnel with basic technical qualifications will only unpack and pack containers.
