In Venezuela, there was a disaster with a Russian-made fighter. We are talking about a Su-30MK2 combat aircraft, which was supposed to carry out a planned flight in the state of Guarico.
According to recent reports, both crew members of the Su-30MK2 were killed.
Venezuelan media report that Brigadier General Virgilio Marquez Morillo was on the plane. He was the commander of the air base in the city of El Sombrero. An officer Nesmar Salazar Nunez made a flight with him. His title is captain.
At the moment, it has been announced that a commission has been created to deal with the establishment of the causes of the fighter’s catastrophe. So far, no versions have been reported on this subject.
According to reports, for some strange reason, the plane exploded during takeoff and climb. That is why the crew had no chance to survive.
Earlier, the Venezuelan Air Force General reportedly piloted OV10 Bronco aircraft, had qualifications for flying the F-16. It is also known that he was trained in Russia with the aim of gaining experience in piloting Su-30 fighters.
There are versions of an emergency situation with weapons on board. Judging by the published reports, sabotage at the air base cannot be ruled out. There are no official reports on this yet.
