Russian heavy UAVs "Altius" and "Hunter" equate to aircraft

Russian heavy military Drones "Altius" and "Hunter" will be included in the register of the state aviation, which will allow them to travel along common air routes, including international ones. This is reported "News" with reference to the Ministry of Defense.

Russian heavy UAVs "Altius" and "Hunter" equate to aircraft

The Ministry of Defense has developed relevant amendments to the Federal Aviation Rules for state registration of state aircraft. According to them, drones weighing over 10 tons will be registered in the state registration registry. Registered UAVs will receive unique numbers and onboard identification marks, and their operators will be equated with crew commanders.

First of all, it’s about heavy drones: Altius of extra long range and heavy Hunter UAV. After receiving registration marks that are applied to the wings and the fuselage, the Ministry of Defense will be able to move them along common air corridors, including international ones, if appropriate.

As explained in the military department, such registration will allow the drone to fly under its own power, for example, to Syria, through the airspace of other countries. Without registration, no state will launch an aircraft on its territory.

American heavy drones even have a civilian standard transponder for flying in international airspace. That is, they are visible on all civilian radars. Dispatchers record where and how the device flies. The movement of drones will also be organized in our country after they begin to register. The same "Hunter" - in fact, a full-fledged jet. He can fly at civilian levels

- said military expert Anton Lavrov.

Yes, it is quite logical. "Buran" could also fly in unmanned mode. What, then, it cannot be considered an airplane (a comic ship)? request

May, will, allow? There is nothing yet, but there are a lot of disputes, fantasies about the sea ... They are already analyzing something, they are already judging the advantages ... There is nothing, a naked empty flying box ... And without prospects, or rather, there is one, to become a new big toy .. .

          .. become a new big toy ...

Wow toy! belay With a take-off weight of 25 tons, with a practical ceiling of 18 km (I'm talking about the Hunter), with a flight range of 6000 km and a speed of up to 1400 km / h! Even if a real serial device does not reach such characteristics, it is still impressive! good what

6000 km range? Is there real-time coverage with 3x duplication? Is there at least a plan for creating such coverage? In Syria, we don’t have anything for 500 km, or rather 200 km with real-time information exchange? Is this impressive ?!

Did you get a new training manual? At first, the cartoon will not fly. Now an empty box with no prospects.

It’s impossible to sculpt heavy UAVs if we don’t have real-time information processing systems, if we don’t have target designation systems with direct coordinates from UAVs to us .. We use information from small UAVs only to the remote control, but we need to process it immediately and be able to use it for real-time target designation .... And then they immediately want to depict everything, it doesn’t happen .... Instead of sequential work from small to heavy UAVs, they want to blind everything in one under the pretext of a drone UAV fashion, so as not to such systems ... But there are no developments, gentlemen will not work!

No, I remember saying at one time that he would not fly rockets, then that it would not be profitable to launch them. But rockets fly and there are commercial launches.

I am plagued by vague doubts that those wishing to let them through their airspace will line up, most of the countries are "under the heel" of Washington. And on the domestic commercial echelons they have nothing to do at all - it will take years of fine-tuning the "raw" devices.
Most likely they "reacted" to similar news from the USA a week ago.

They also gathered there to certify UAVs for flights in the "common airspace". We decided to do "as they do" without burdening ourselves with the question "why".

That Caliber and Tomahawks are designed to fly without detecting themselves, and such drones sometimes need to light up to overtake them between bases and not pose a danger to civilian liners

There is a control system, why not include UAVs there.

There is a control system, why not include UAVs there.

If only because there is no pilot on board who can conduct radio communications with dispatchers on the echelon. And at the echelons it is required. Someone is given the command to maintain such a speed, someone to gain / lower altitude and so on. And it’s fraught to conduct radio communications through a satellite - communication may sometimes be interrupted. Even a couple of minutes can be critical.
In principle, it is possible to drive UAVs on a flight intended for aircraft that have lost radio communications (there is such a procedure in manned aviation), but these flights are also crossed by conventional aircraft.

Do you think the Hunter will refuel with a landing at Orly or Heathrow? What would be cool.
