US transfers control over Syrian Manbij to Russia

36
Against the background of statements by US President Donald Trump about the withdrawal of the US military from Syria, information appeared that the United States is transferring control of Syrian Manbij to the north of Aleppo province to Russia. This statement was made by the magazine Newsweekreferring to a statement by a senior Pentagon source.

The source of the publication claims that the US military is withdrawing its forces from the city, while they do everything in their power to ensure that the Russian military takes hold in the city. According to him, this is necessary so that the Turkish army and the forces of the SSA (free Syrian army) do not defeat the Kurds from the SDS, which control Manbij.

The US military, who spent more time in the area, helped Russian troops quickly pass through previously unsafe areas. In essence, this is a transfer (of control). However, we are talking about a quick conclusion, which does not imply instruction and the like. Everything is aimed at leaving, preserving as much of our inventory as possible and destroying any important equipment that cannot be transported

- cites the publication of the word source.

It was previously reported that the Turkish army, together with the SSA, launched an attack on Manbij, which is the key city of the Syrian Kurds. To protect the city and the border from the Turkish attack, the forces of the government army have already entered it.

Meanwhile, the Trump administration has confirmed that the United States will not withdraw its military contingent from Mount Tanf in southern Syria. According to a spokesman for the presidential administration on condition of anonymity, the United States will leave its forces "to further fight the IS" (banned in Russia) .

As the president explicitly stated, the issue of the withdrawal of US troops from Al-Tanfa is not currently being discussed.

- he said.

We also encounter Turks in the province of Idlib, but this does not lead to a direct clash. In the Kurdish provinces, too, will be able to agree. Alternatively, the Turks will be given the opportunity to create a security zone along the border, and the Kurds will be forced to accept autonomy within Syria, as a maximum. And at least, they will not give any autonomy under the threat of their defeat. I personally think that they will not provide broad autonomy.

That is, do you think that we will not be able to come to an agreement with the Turks? And what does it mean to “drive us to the Kurds?” How is that? Maybe, on the contrary, together with the CAA, disarm the Kurds and put them in their rightful place? They tried to confront us with the Turks back in November 2015 but it didn't work.

There, a humanitarian catastrophe and corpses no one pulled out from under the rubble, no one cleared anything. The Americans want to hang it all on us. And so the Americans leave anyway.

There was no choice. Rather, it was. Between the military conflict of the first NATO army with the second army of the same NATO and the merging of the Kurds and the project of an independent Kurdistan. Turkey is the straits. Everything else is secondary. NATO cannot afford to lose control of them. Th Trump simply chose the most logical option.

Already there are battles between CAA and SNA.
On the west bank of the Euphrates, the Menbij area was taken under control by the Syrian army, Russian military police and special forces. Aircraft of the Russian air group were spotted over Menbij. During the day, SNA militants, with the support of Turkish self-propelled guns, tried to attack the Kurds in the areas of Dadat, Wadi Magar, Jebel Daushan and several others in the northern and northwestern sectors of the front near Menbij, but they met resistance from the Syrian government forces.

To the west of Wadi Magar, a group of SNA militants infiltrated the positions of the Syrian military, unexpectedly attacked, killed several soldiers and captured a tank. Under mortar and artillery fire, they fled to their original positions. On October 14, nothing was achieved in the SNA area of Menbij. The day passed in an exchange of heavy blows.

In the afternoon, from Menbij and from Ain Issa, Syrian government forces began to advance towards Ain al-Arab (Kobani), but on the road they were unexpectedly met by a patrol of American special forces. The Americans said they would not let the Syrian military go to Kobani until they completely withdraw their troops. On the same day, Donald Trump announced the complete withdrawal of the US Armed Forces from northern Syria, advising the Kurds to defend their land with the help of "Assad, Russia, China or Napoleon Bonaparte."

Meanwhile, the situation in the Kobani area on the evening of October 14 sharply deteriorated. It so happened that the Americans simply covered up another strategic direction for Turkey. At about 18:00 local time, the Turks opened fire from self-propelled guns and mortars on the positions of the Kurds in the Kobani area, a significant number of SNA militants were pulled to the border. The Islamists say that the pro-Turkish forces can attack Kobani "today".

I wonder what "important equipment" we are talking about, which, moreover, cannot be taken out. Usually, the important is destroyed during a hasty flight (retreat) so that the enemy does not get it. It means that the Americans are fleeing the city (if the information is reliable).

I look here full of pants of enthusiasm from the supposedly hasty flight of the Americans .. They just do nothing like that .. And Turkey is still a NATO member .. Past agreements did not prevent the Turks from shooting down our plane .. I don’t know how you have, but I have confidence no to them ..

No. Quite a working policy of "Controlled Chaos", tried out by the ancient Romans during the period of retreat. Now the Americans have adopted this policy. Obama also tried to withdraw troops from Iraq and Afghanistan. But not successful. So Trump is only continuing the all-American strategy of "setting fire to the Middle East." I hope that the Arabs, Turks and Persians will be smart enough not to burn their own countries to the end.
