American B-52 strategists hit targets in the North Sea
As follows from the published data, a couple of American B-52 strategists, taking off from the Mildenhall airbase in England, made a series of calls with simulated airstrikes on a landfill on the North Sea island of Vlland, belonging to the Netherlands, during a three-hour flight. Airspace in the exercise area was closed to civilian aircraft.
The B-52 bombers participating in the exercises arrived at the forward base of Fairford in the UK from the Barksdale air base in the US state of Louisiana as part of the four strategists. At the same time, three of them, before landing in England, made approaches to the Russian borders in the Kaliningrad Region, after which, without flying about 230 km from the main base of the Baltic Fleet, they turned and left for the airfield in Britain.
- The US Air Force said in a statement.
Recall that the American strategists of B-52 have already practiced striking at Russian territory, simulating an attack in the Kaliningrad region. Then, up to six bombers took part in the maneuvers.
