More than 2,5 thousand young drivers of the Central Military District started to master the new technology
In accordance with the training plan for the formations and military units of the Central Military District, training camps began in the Samara All-Arms Army with drivers of armored personnel carriers and automotive equipment of general arms.
More than 2,5 thousand soldiers and sergeants take part in the training event. A number of classes are planned to be held on modern dynamic simulators, which are able to simulate not only the weather conditions of different seasons of the year, day and night, but also the tactical situation of modern combat.
In practical classes, which will be held in the points of maintenance and repair, experts will study the material part of the standard vehicles.
Instructors plan to pay special attention to new models of automotive equipment, for example, the recently received KAMAZ-5350, which is equipped with an additional protection kit (CDS) in the form of an armored capsule-type cabin with bullet-proof glass. KDZ protects the crew and landing force from shots at point-blank from rifle weapons and protects from fragments of shells and mines.
At the final stage, drivers of motor vehicles will have to march in 500 km, drivers of armored personnel carriers - in 100 km. On the march, they will work out the observance of established distances and speed limits, overcoming difficult terrain, life support issues during halts and stops, and countering saboteurs of a conditional opponent.
Special driver training will end on August 2. The special commission of the Central Military District will take examinations on traffic rules, device and maintenance of machines, compliance with safety requirements when working on equipment and practical driving.
In 2012, more than 1,4 thousand units of vehicles — six modifications of the Urals and KAMAZ vehicles, as well as 6 BTR-82 armored vehicles — will enter the formations and military units of the Central Military District. Since the beginning of the year, more than 600 units of automotive technology have been received. Among them are 300 all-wheel drive trucks KAMAZ-53501, which belong to the Mustang family and are capable of towing trailers up to 12 tons in off-road conditions. They are equipped with engines that meet Euro-2 standards, are made according to the wheel formula 6 x 6 and have a payload of up to 10 tons.
Also, the troops received more than 20 heavy truck tractors with a KAMAZ-65225 semi-trailer, capable of towing semi-trailers up to 50 tons even off-road.
