DPRK's Latest SLBM: A Way to Raise Bids with Washington

17
In the nuclear missile (and non-nuclear missile, too) plan, this week came out in the world of war and tension. In Russia, on September 30, the next combat training launch of a light monoblock (with a "megaton" class combat unit and a modern complex of missile defense - KSP PRO) ICBMs Topol-M ICBMs of a silo modification from the Yuzhnaya-2 silos at the Plesetsk cosmodrome took place the battlefield on the Kura (the goal is to confirm the characteristics, extend the life of the operation). So to say, “warming up” before the large-scale exercises of the strategic nuclear forces of the Russian Federation “Thunder” is proceeding successfully. The United States "answered" with the next launch (for the same purpose) of the Miniteman-3 light monoblock ICBM from the Vandenberg test air base in California at the Kwajalein training ground in the Pacific Ocean. The launch took place on October 2, and was also successful. Interesting missile events took place in the Far East.

SLBM launch "Pukkukson-3"

DPRK's Latest SLBM: A Way to Raise Bids with Washington

One of the launches of SLBMs of the previous generation Pukkukson-1 (for comparison)

You won’t praise yourself - you walk like spitting Congress

US President Trump made another stupid statement. He stated that "the country's nuclear forces have been completely modernized in recent years." And in general, once again he repeated the even greater nonsense that "the American armed forces and especially nuclear forces" became "more powerful than ever before and continue to grow stronger." And for a change, he said this not on Twitter, where there are hundreds of millions of fools and simpletons, and they will believe everything. And he said this at a ceremony in honor of the inauguration of the new chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (OKNSh) of the US Armed Forces, General Miley (the paratrooper, who replaced the highly intelligent marine of Danford). That is, of course, there were enough people there who were aware of the situation with the Armed Forces in general, and with nuclear forces, and it was clearly difficult for them not to laugh at these words of the president. It’s sad to laugh.

“We have the latest military equipment, we also have equipment that we do not disclose information about, no one has ever even heard of it. We have weaponwhich, I pray to God, we will never have to use "/

In general, as the Mango-Mango group once sang: "We have such devices, but we won’t tell you about them!" What else can I say? Is it possible that Trump’s statement caused yet another storm of indignation among the US expert community, which in its entirety cannot be tolerated. But Trump can be understood - he needs to be re-elected, and here Ukraine is doing some nasty things, and a guy came from there, or wanted to give his stand-up show at a party in the White House, or a mime with a piano show, but generally requested money. And for this they are already trying to impeach in Congress. Need to do something. For example, telling voters about their achievements, real and imaginary.

And between them in China there was a large-scale parade dedicated to the 70 anniversary of the PRC, where, among other innovations, and, so to speak, “pseudo-novelties” (because there were much more profanity and prototyping at this parade than usual) those in the nuclear and non-nuclear field. A separate material will be devoted to the analysis of what was shown on the parade by real systems, and what was mock-up nonsense for blowing dust into the eyes, at least for a few of the most "vivid" specimens. In the meantime, there is no less interesting news.

"Polaris-3" from the Korean Peninsula

At the same time, the DPRK made its move in the rocket game, and very interesting. North Koreans first launched their new Pukkukson-3 SLBM. As already mentioned, this word in Korean means the same as in English Polaris, "Polar Star", the first American SLBMs were also called - a kind of trolling. In any case, for the first time it was precisely established that a new rocket was flying.

This was the first SLBM launch from an offshore platform since August 2016. The launch was made from an underwater submersible test platform off the Korean coast near Wonsan. The launch was carried out along a “short but high-altitude” trajectory, because, as has been said more than once, it is extremely difficult for North Koreans to test long-range missiles. The territory is small, and not like ours, where you can launch within your own territory at completely intercontinental ranges, and even from different directions and to different ranges from different places. Or the Chinese, who can at least experience 3-4 thousands inside their territory. In addition, the Korean Peninsula is "clamped" by states on all sides. Which will not allow launches over their territory. Of course, higher than 100 km there is already "common air", because there is already outer space, formally, states do not have the right to make claims for flying over their territories at this altitude. But you still need to climb these 100 kilometers and fly precisely over the territory, and not drop the “product”.

Frame from the camera installed on the new SLBM

However, through the territory of Japan, the northerners fired precisely on this principle. But there is another problem - there are no means of monitoring the fields of fall at really great distances from the DPRK in the ocean. Need KIKi - ships command-measuring complex, need ships fleetto block the fall area, in general, a lot of what is needed. The northerners do not have all this yet, although they are working on this issue. Because they launch "far up and slightly far", which in terms of conversion allows you to get at least intercontinental ranges. But there are, however, nuances associated with a sore point for all the "young" countries (and for China, it seems, too) - with the return and entry of combat units into the atmosphere. With this start-up, the entry conditions are somewhat different. But the northerners do not have to choose, and therefore they use this option. And why the Chinese, who have all the capabilities, do not do this - the question is different.

A thousand kilometers up

The first launch took place at a distance of 450 km and with a maximum flight altitude at the top point of 910 km, which, if counted on a “normal” trajectory with a normal height, will give approximately 2000 km. The flight speed was 3,74 km / s, the angle of incidence was 81,5 degrees, and the flight time was 17 minutes.

The North Koreans declared this launch successful, and it was such, judging by the data of objective control of a number of neighboring countries (our Defense Ministry, as usual, will remain silent or give out data that differs from the generally accepted downward, as was the case with the DPRK launches of ICBMs - no one plays political games canceled).

The official message of CTC:
Pyongyang, October 3. CCAC. The DPRK National Defense Academy in the morning of October 2 in the waters of the Wonsan Bay of the Korean East Sea successfully conducted a test launch of a new type of ballistic missile from the Bukgykson-3 submarine.

The test launch of a new type of ballistic missile was carried out at a high angle.

Through the test launch, the most important tactical technical indicators of the newly designed ballistic missile were scientifically and technically confirmed, and the test launch did not have any negative effects on the security of the surrounding countries.

The cadres of the party and the defense research industry, who supervised the on-site test run, reported on the results of the successful test run of the party Central Committee.

Dear senior leader Comrade Kim Jong-un, on behalf of the TPK Central Committee, sent warm and heartfelt congratulations to the defense research units participating in the test launch.

The successful test launch of a new type of ballistic missile from the Bukgykson-3 submarine, this time, is a significant success, which opened a new phase in containing the threat to the DPRK from outside forces and further developing the country's self-defensive military power.

What can be said about the rocket from its first images? First, it differs from the images of the future "Puccucon-2" that popped up on frames from the DPRK 3 a year ago. Either during this time the project was redone, or those pictures were misinformation - they reported the fact of development, without giving useful information. The new SLBM, of course, is solid fuel, and it is two-stage, as, indeed, the rest of the missiles of this series - SLBMs and IFRS. But it is much larger in size. Talking about the maximum range of the product is still meaningless, and the dimensions are not exactly known. On the footage received from the Koreans, there is nothing to be attached to for precise definition of dimensions. Yes, and the size of the silos on a boat of type 033 being reconstructed into SSBNs, which is obviously intended for a new product - we also don’t know how we don’t know if the only silo was remade on the DPRK test SSBN, the only one in service so far.

[center] The sequence of starting operations when launching using the method of "cold" (mortar) start is clearly visible

[/ Center]

Perhaps the maximum range of the new SLBM will be up to 4 thousand km, but so far this is, in general, an assumption.

What is curious is the shape of the head fairing. It is she who differs from the picture that surfaced a couple of years ago. In that figure, there is a clear monoblock type warhead, as on previous missiles of this series, without visible signs of the presence of the simplest missile defense system. And here we see the head fairing, which, most likely, is intended for a missile with an RGM, or, say, for a monoblock, but with a relatively developed missile defense system. Well, are they ready in the DPRK to create separable warheads, at least, say, of a scattering type (without individual guidance, with simple dilution of blocks to compensate for guidance errors)? Soon, something will probably become clear here. And the rocket itself, in general, looks like a more modern product than its predecessor. Although, of course, the purely visual similarity, say, with the French SLBMs or the Tridents, says nothing, this is understandable.

So depicted a new rocket a couple of years ago

So she looks now

Best to bargain by unfastening the strap on the holster

Why did the first launch of the new SLBM take place right now? Firstly, it is obvious that the product was already ready for this test, and they did not pull it. Secondly, Kim Jong-un Trump's famous promise extended to ICBMs and nuclear tests, and not to SLBMs (although SLBMs can also be of intercontinental range). Thirdly, negotiations between the DPRK and the USA at the level of working groups are soon beginning, or rather are resuming, and rumors are circulating that Americans who are "orphaned" without a mustached grandfather Bolton are ready to offer something more realistic than Uncle Johnny’s beloved’s. and disarm, and we will pat you on the shoulder. " It’s like lifting or freezing part of the UN sanctions in response to the freezing of uranium enrichment in Yongbyon with verification of the shutdown of the reactor. It at least makes sense to discuss and bargain. And the best bid position is strong.

Ah yes Eun, ah yes ... Just like Pushkin Eun - the little one!
In general, he became interested in the topic of the DPRK after the odious film of netov. Mansky about this country. Well, such a fierce hell showed that even the saints bear it. He began to dig himself, to look for something about this country. And lo! It was found quite a lot. Despite the fact that the North Koreans who were just trying to get rid of what sanctions and embargoes were not announced to them, but they are building and are building their country without the help of the international community. Well done.

All the same, it is not easy to accomplish and maintain.
Unfortunately, it is so that there are sanctions against the northerners, the UN mandate.
Breaking this garbage must begin ... but, striped with their sevyavki, this can specifically prevent it! It is necessary to look for ways to bypass / approach, all the same you will not be nice, and your interes closer to your stomach, this is a fact.

The most offensive is that Putin also joined the international sanctions against the DPRK.

Unfortunately, it’s cooler there than all international ones, that is, don’t understand whose! There are UN sanctions, official and approved. Against them shout, it is necessary to have steel Faberge .... who they have and who dare to strum them ???

But there was probably a vote at the UN then. It turns out that ours also voted for sanctions.

If I don’t confuse, then ours (only once) ignored the meeting of the UN Security Council at all!
In general, then the situation was difficult, the main Korean comrade Kim did not listen to ANY of his friends AT ALL! He was not even supported by China ....
It is better to read the chronology of those events. I read for a long time, I can confuse ....

Yes, Putin didn’t personally decide. Such is the logic of the ruling class in the Russian Federation.
All productive movements of the Russian Federation towards the DPRK are due solely to confrontation with the United States. No more.

I read and almost shed a tear from such "patriotism" and bragging. It turns out that they have everything and even that which they themselves do not know about. As before, "the smartest and most beautiful" rockets. But even the DPRK has already put its "Pukkukson-3" on the United States, and what can we say about China.

Well, the situation is always difficult. Milosevic, until the very last, hoped that his fellow financiers from the states would not allow the bombing of the cities of Yugoslavia.
And Gaddafi was even more confident in Sarkozy with Berlusconi than in Medvedev (Putin).
Or we had to beg them: "buy a C-300/400/500, otherwise they will be piling on you?"
I hope that Kim Jong-un, wise in experience (with bloody shots of reprisal against M. Gaddafi), will not allow the West to lull his indestructible belief that only the bad should be expected from the West.

And our soft-bodied government needs to support in every possible way (and not sell for haircuts from Israel and the states, as was the case with the moratorium on supplying S-300 to Iran) of such firm allies as the DPRK and Iran.

Well done North Koreans! So soon they and their satellite will launch. And they themselves will observe enemies from outer space. Another thing is that they will not be able to fully-fledged infrastructure to support the satellite and transmit information from it at any time anywhere in the world. But it will be enough for them if they photograph South Korea and Japan in high quality.

China too. So all the permanent members of the Security Council unanimously voted for the sanctions. What is it for?

In the photo of 2017, at the parade, they showed albeit a layout, but a real rocket with a real monoblock. On October 2, they launched an incomprehensible "stub". Apparently, the MIRV is still far from being ready. Such a fairing is just to at least improve the aerodynamics. There is nothing under this fairing. There is no such fairing in the world at all. Take a look at the approximate dimensions. The "grid" in the photo is something like a transition compartment. And there is no regular head fairing itself.

The situation with the DPRK is remarkable for the following. On this resource periodically there are articles about how many "tomahawks", "Aegis", "aircraft carriers" in the West. And that for them to swat us is no more difficult than a fly.
    BUT
The DPRK in its military capabilities is incomparably weaker than our country. However, further not only swings in the direction of the DPRK, but even shouts: - "Hold me seven. And then I kaaak now ... Just hold on tightly" For some reason, it does not work. There is something that includes real fighting.
And this is the DPRK's nuclear weapon. Even this is not perfect compared to ours. Because their political elite clearly understands that a man in the street can support the war, may not support the war. But under no circumstances should he die in this war. The death of one's own electorate in the war, especially in the numbers characteristic of an ICBM strike, will not be "sold" in the elections. There is no one there to collect under Churchill's "slogan" Blood, oil, tears, and sweat[i] [/ i].

    Until this decade, slowly stamped.
And then bam, and flew ...

With a range of 4000 km and "put" ?? Do the Americans know about this, or at least guess?

The range of this PukS-3 so far says that no more than 2 thousand kilometers. So in South Korea and Japan you can shoot from the base, but for the United States the boat must come to the right distance.
Bearing in mind that a few years ago, the DPRK offered Taiwan an air-independent remote control for submarines, the chances of such a boat making its way to the US coast are not as few as some people think.
Such a head fairing is just to at least ennoble aerodynamics. There is nothing under this fairing.

Where the warhead starts from cannot be said from the launch photo. The mesh on the rocket also cannot be included in the "transfer compartment".
We do not know what the fairing is under this, but I think there is enough space for the warhead. Look at the photo "This is how the new rocket was depicted a couple of years ago" and everything falls into place.
