In February, 2012 in the factory and corporate salon of the Promtechnology Group of Companies, which creates products under the brand name "ORSIS - High-Precision Weapon Systems", was held a very interesting and unique exhibition "Private manufacturers of the defense complex - 2012". The main idea of the exhibition is to demonstrate various weapons, equipment, optics and other products of private manufacturers, which are not only successfully represented on the market of civilian small arms and equipment, but are also able to produce products in accordance with the state defense order for the needs of state structures.
The exhibition was “closed” and lasted two days, access was by invitation. On the first day, the exhibition was visited by a government delegation consisting of members of the Military Industrial Commission under the Government of the Russian Federation, members of the committees on industry, defense and security of the State Duma and the Federation Council of the Russian Federation. On the second day, military experts and journalists were able to familiarize themselves with the exposition.
I can not say that the exhibition was struck by an abundance of exhibits and participants. On the contrary, there were quite a few, but almost all with their own developments and private capital. I am sure that such an exhibition is an excellent undertaking. And I am especially pleased that it is being conducted on the basis of the Promtekhnologii Group of Companies, which in this sense is an example of building a private business without public investment. I also liked the abundance of time to get acquainted with the samples, no one rushed and did not interfere. One could have talked enough with the representatives of the companies, tried the products and discussed the arisen questions.
The first part of the report will be the armory. Basically a tour of the production of rifles ORSIS and the company's products, as well as a few other manufacturers. The second part is completely about optics.
Rifle ORSIS T-5000 .338LM
The central event of the exhibition for me was a visit to the production of ORSIS rifles with a demonstration of some stages of production.
Promtekhnologii Group of Companies launched an industrial production of hunting, sporting and tactical rifles in March 2011. The factory and company shop are located in Moscow. The production is equipped with a unique machine park, which includes 30 machining centers for various purposes with program-numerical control.
The production of rifles at the plant of the Promtekhnologii Group of Companies is carried out over a full cycle from the manufacture of barrels, bolt groups and triggering to the production of lodges from various materials, as well as the assembly and testing of finished products.
I am very far from the sphere of production and machine tools, but I noticed that the work is carried out mainly on foreign equipment.
False constructions are made of various materials: weapon laminate, wood, glass and carbon fabrics, as well as in a combined form using an internal frame of high-strength aluminum alloy.
